This year we had to replace out vacuum head. Looking at pool places and box stores near us. We could not find anything that looked of the quality that we expected. Along with all of them looking cheap they came with a large price. We turned to Amazon and chose to give this one a try. I'm glad we did. This thing has heft to it. Not cheaply made at all. The brushes are good and sturdy. They really help to loosen the stubborn stuff that sticks to the bottom of the pool. It is also transparent so you can see if you get a pile of leaves stuck in it. When I went to use it the brushes that are secured in a plastic track fell off out of the vacuum head. I had to use hot glue and glue them back into the head. The pin that holds it to your pole was too short and it fell off my pool pole. I had to use a clip pin to hold it on the pole. After all that it worked well but should not have to go through all that on a new item I recently bought. ... show more

This product is very similar to the one that came with my pool. And that one lasted over 15 years. The weakest part is the little plastic pin that holds the handle to the head. On my old one I used a stainless nut and bolt it lasted for years.. Just in case the plastic pin breaks.

Thought I’d try this because of the shape and see through aspect…and because of the coolness factor. After the first use the bristle housings fell out while stored. Popped them back in and they came off while using the second time. Third use I checked them before starting and they were secure HOWEVER there were bristles coming out and there were signs of rust at the mounting point. The 4th and final time I used this was to vacuum the pool for closing. It was more trouble than it was worth because of all of the bristles lost or broken. Went back to my old, (11 year) vacuum head had used previously. I have a 16 by 32 above ground pool and this is the first product I’ve purchased for maintenance that has come apart. FOUR USES and I should have stopped using it after the second time. Don’t waste your money. Looks cool but that’s about it. It is also not weighted which doesn’t really matter to me but I’m glad it wasn’t since the entire unit lost the bristles while vacuuming…a risk that could have torn the liner.
