Every top to each stool was chipped. Dark stain created a strong contrast making the damaged seats more obvious. I had to have stools for house showing, so I had to keep them. A wood stain pen disguised damage easily though.

I love the industrial farmhouse look and these bar stools look nice. The metal is actually more gray but they look nice with the dark wood top. One of the chairs had a dent in the metal but it wasn't terrible. I'm sure it came that way from China because the box wasn't damaged upon delivery. Overall very happy with my purchase.
