One day and only once the driver side didn't work. For our 2017 Rubicon Unlimited, I really could use another 4-5 inches of wire along drivers side. I think the firewall mount area is to cramped with the '17s battery setup, a real struggle to find that perfect spot. But afterwards, the darn things are perfect. Wife loves her Jeep now, so I'm happy as well. Oh, the instruction don't tell you this: Steps will sit at a very odd angle (gull-wing door style) and have you think you've mounted incorrectly! But once power is applied (reconnect battery) they move into the open or closed position as intended for use depending if door is open or closed. Not intended for hard corp off-roading. Some will wonder why on a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Well, we live down a very long Alabama clay road and when it rains the roads are almost impassable. A 4x4 with locking diff front and rear greatly assist and that is not on every 4x4. Her Rubicon with these steps make entry and exit a breeze and the Rubicon ensures I don't need to pull her out of ditch.

Not as easy of an install as shown in videos... this part of the instructions should have in all CAPS: THE TWO SUPPORTS MUST LINE UP PERFECTLY OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTACH THE RAIL! You would think they would line up since they are both mounted against the body pinch weld flang, but no... the rear mount is turned in oh so slightly. Needed adjusting and many attempts at shimming to line up perfectly. So the first side took almost 3 hours of trial and error, but once done, the other side took about 15 minutes. Take your time and make sure each step of install is aligned and perfect - then it's a breeze from then on! Would definitely recommend - they look and work AWESOME! UPDATE: Over a year later and still function and look like new!

Did a 2-1/2" lift with 35s on my 2014 polar edition and ended up raising the jeep 4+ inches. Rock rails were useless except for appearance. This power step was the solution. Works awesome and the bluish led lights looks really sweet with polar blue exterior. Really happy with this product. Install was done by mechanic so can't comment on that. Other than it was done well and wires were hid professionally.

Attaching the kit on my 2013 JK 4 Door (Sport S) was fairly straight forward. I had no rock rails or steps attached previously. Pros: - With 2.5" lift and 35" tires, this kit splits the difference just about evenly between the ground and the footwell. - The 2 second timeout to retract after the door closes is just about right switching between doors. - I like the aesthetics of these steps compared to some competitors, they blend in quite well with the factory trim. - It tested out the pressure safety feature on the steps, with about 40 pounds of pressure, the steps will freeze when a blockage is present. This makes me feel better with the kids using the steps on their own. Cons: - One of the LED lights is not working in the kit. It seems to be non-functional,I tried splicing it multiple times. I plan on contacting the seller for a replacement. - Instruction manual is a little sparse but it worked. I imagine it it hard to be very precise with small variances between model years. Suggestions: - I wish the kit came with a wiring harness to tap into the door wires rather than a posi-tap connector. You have to choose between pulling out the lower dash to install the splice, or attach it directly to the door wires. The latter means it is a little more interesting to remove the doors in the summer. - The controller's main cable harness does not snap on, it is more like a compression fit. This caused an the passenger side to not work until I pushed in the connector as hard as I could. I am hoping it does not wiggle loose again. - Add an on-off switch to help deactivate the switches. I can do this myself, but it would help with maintenance and debugging during install. Overall, I think this kit will hold up over time. Their 5 year warranty is definitely a plus. Make sure you send in your card.

The product is really built for heavy use. Bought it on 2014, but still the paint on the running boards and arms are like new. Not even a scratch, and I've been pressure washing the *h* out of it. BUT, there's a but. both motors finally died for some reason. I replaced the right motor last 2017 under warranty. then funny thing happened. the day I replaced the right motor, the left motor got jealous n stoped working as well. few weeks ago I emailed my concern.(I know it took me a while to report the problem, and yes the left side step board is hanging out like a stand for people to ride in while doing car maneuvers.. ). Also, the customer service since the beginning of purchase has been GREAT!!! they sent the left side motor within few days.

Amp Step Boards are an excellent addition to the looks and operation of your vehicle. Make sure you lube the control arms once installed and there will be no problems with the function of the step boards. If you can afford them they are well worth the money. Update 3/09/2012: The motor on the passenger's side has quit working (step board will go down but not up). I am contacting AMP for replacement. These step boards have been great, not sure about dependability... Update 3/09/2012: Amazon is the only company to order merchandise from on the internet. The customer service is fantastic and their Return policy is amazing. Amazon gave me a full refund on my purchase and paid return shipping on the step boards. I will be a loyal customer for life...

It wasn't too dificult to install and it worked the first time I operated it. I had one question about motor timing, so I called the Amp Research factory and got my question answered immediately. The step is an awesome device. It works very well for my wife and me to get into my Wrangler Unlimited with a 3" lift. The cost of the step was much lower than if I bought it locally and had it installed.
