  • Work great and install was pretty simple.
Shipping and arrival was fast. I ordered on 12/31. Arrived on 1/6, 3 business days. I read the instructions the night before installing it several times. I pre-assembled the motors and laid out the parts for the next day. Took about 2-3 hours to install. I was taking my time. I was more interested in quality than speed. Instructions were good, a couple typos but nothing I couldn't figure out. For example, it called for a T30 star bit to tighten the motor bolts, but they were actually allen heads, I think 5/32. One note called a washer something else. There also wasn't much guidance on aligning the steps front-back on the mounts. ie: how far to mount them from the edge of the door or something like that. I just eyeballed a decent spot and measured it and used that on the other side. The parts went together great. All the parts I needed were there, nothing missing. The wire lengths were great, not too much slack, nothing too short. **Update: The rebate came on time also. They usually say 6-8 weeks and it came right at 6 weeks. That's pretty good considering most rebates that say 6-8 weeks really take longer. The power steps are still working great. The instructions suggested putting the fuse in prior to finishing the install. I guess to test. I didn't do that, I completed the entire install. They also had the steps going on prior to installing the lights. But the step would be in-the-way, so I installed the lights first, then the steps. I also don't recall the instructions mentioning that the butt connectors on the lights were heat shrinkable. That's a must for an exterior splice like that and I was happy to see they included those. You need a heat gun to activate the heat shrink. A hair dryer might work though. They included plenty of wire ties. And I like the posi-splice for the interior splice on the ODB unit. They work great. Worked first time no problems whatsoever. I also like that only the one on the side of the truck I open comes down, not both of them. My wife and 3 year old are happy to have a step to get in. I like it too. It's a bit of a climb without that step on a F150. ... show more

These are great and make the truck look so much sleeker without the factory running boards jutting out. Me and a buddy installed them in our shop at work (it's really a warehouse but it has a dock door and it was inside). The instructions tell you 3-4 hours but it took us almost 7 hours because it was our first installation and we don't have a lift. If you have a lift and another set of hands, 3-4 hours seems reasonable. Overall the install is clean but some of wires for the lighting kit (which was standard in this kit) were a bit tight (drivers side, back light). The battery connection is also short and we had to cut away some of the spiral wrap to get more wire length. Either of the reasons are not major enough for any major difficulties such a bit of nuisance (AMP Research if you're reading you may want to look into this). If you're trying to install them by yourself - don't. Find a neighbor, friend, co-worker, etc. because removing your factory running boards (if you have them) will need another set of hands and arms. Plus, it never hurts to share a 12-pack of Tecate with him/her. They've been on my truck for about a month (1,500 miles) and I have had absolutely no issues at all. I checked the tightness of the bolts, wiring harness and additional hardware such as the board mounting plates and such and all are tight and secure. I will check everything again in about 5,000 miles. After that, I will not check again for a year or so which is roughly 20,000 miles. Or, ask your local service shop to check them every oil change. I would recommend checking them because they do sit on the outside of the truck and everyone knows what happens on the outside. Final assessment - I love them. And I have a friend who is insanely frugal and he's thinking about putting them on his GMC. That should be testament enough. I will help him when needed but he has to buy the 12-pack. Cheers (or Salud as we say here in Texas). ... show more

  • Great quality, works perfectly, fairly simple to install
I'm very familiar with the running boards - was the one option not available for my 2013 King Ranch SCrew and have wanted them for several years. Finally took the plunge and installed these. I have a bad back and it can be a little challenging at time to climb the big step on my stock running boards. Also not fun watching my mother-in-law trying to get in to the truck...The Amp makes a ton of difference with the wider, lower, more even steps. These work great, operate smoothly, and the light is a nice added feature. Parts are high quality, installation was not real challenging, just took some time. Pretty good 9 minute video available on you tube to run you through installation. Referred to it a couple of times to verify the paper instructions. Including removal of old running boards, it took about 3 hours to install, and that was probably 30 more minutes than it should have taken because I tried a couple routes with the wiring before deciding which way to go, and as mentioned by others, getting those screws on right when attaching the board took a little while for the first one, the others went better. The instructions call for a torque wrench, not something i have so I did it by feel and hope it is close. All in all, i saved almost $300 buying thru Amazon and not paying for installation, so am extremely happy with how this turned out. Update 2/3/2021: After ~3 years, I have had ZERO issues with the AMP steps. Still look and work great! ... show more

  • Power steps are Awesome
Installed these on my 14 F-150 Raptor. Received fast and in good condition. Packaged well. Installation instructions are easy to follow. Wiring harness well made! Installed by myself in 4-5 hours. Took time routing harness. Had steps now for 2 months and they are awesome! If your thinking of purchasing, do not hesitate. ... show more
