I've purchased seven sets of these to place around my home and backyard over the past 4 years. Every time I find an area that I would like lit in the darkness, I add another set. After 4 years I finally have one that has died. These lights are awesome! Obviously it would be great if you could extend the time that they stayed illuminated, but typically the 30 seconds is enough. They pick up motion from humans and from my pups when they go out to pee in the back at night. I've also purchased a few sets for my aunt who lives in the Caribbean. They're easy to adjust and you can get specific hooks that allow you to put them on the siding of your home. ... show more

Having seen some similar products in the hardware store, these were a bit smaller than I'd visualized. However, once I'd set them up and night arrived, they were also brighter than I'd expected. Even set at about 12' off the ground, the motion sensor was sensitive enough to detect our dog moving past and lit up just fine. The duration of light after detecting movement is about 30 seconds, as it says on its box. One nice feature is the slip-on mounting bracket which allowed for some imaginative applications to enhance my driveway lighting. A feature they do NOT have is the ability to fully rotate the solar panel. They don't get full sun all day, so we'll see if partial shade still allows a complete charge to remain functional at night. Also, they are completely exposed - not sheltered under some roof eave - so that may factor in as well. I'll post an update later, but for now, I'm pleased with this $30 purchase. ... show more

Improved bracket mount adds a few inches extension over previous, which surface mounted the bracket behind solar panel. This finally allows angling the solar panel properly either slanted to almost flat which is nice to do since the sun doesn't hit all panels the same. The button is also changed to a water proof, recessed push on/off, whereas previous was a toggle left right, which may be the questionable waterproofing issue source. Other than that for the price and brightness for what it does is above, just expect it to dim gradually as it's not meant to be constantly on other than a few minutes throughout the night. But is hella bright at full charge and dismal looking left on after several hours. Side note, the lights were on when I received the two boxes. Can see it bright in the dark when I received it in the mail through the boxes corners which is concerning. ... show more
