Description

The Air Plus Iron Filter system below works with wells with submersible and jet pumps SALT AND CHEMICAL FREE! The Air Plus Air Injection Oxidizing Filter System, as a single tank system, is an efficient and cost effective system for the removal of iron and sulphur. The Air Plus maintains an “air pocket” in the top of the tank while the system is in service. As the water passes thru the air pocket, iron and sulphur are oxidized. Additionally, dissolved oxygen is added to the water. The filter media bed then removes the iron and sulphur from the water. The Air Plus can remove up to 4 ppm Hydrogen Sulfide and up to 7 ppm Iron. A daily backwash will remove accumulated iron and replenish the filter media bed. The regeneration process also adds a fresh air pocket to the system. The Air Plus system comes equipped with a Fleck 2510 SXT air injection control head that automatically back washes the system daily to clean the media and flush everything down the drain. The Air Plus is able to put the whole oxidation process inside one tank, keeping maintenance costs and down time to a minimum. The systems include by-pass valve, Structural mineral tank and all necessary media and support bed for individual application.

  • Indoor only transformer
Have not hooked up the system yet but first thing I noticed is the 120 to 24v transformer says for indoor use only. A bit disappointed because the tank has to be connected outside in the elements.

  • Works like a champ
We have been battling iron problems staining for years. My wife couldn't have blonde hair anymore because the water turned her hair orange and the water had a strong mineral taste. We have well water. We got this after debating trying one for the past year. The install was very easy if you have basic plumbing knowledge. A little teflon tape, a couple 1" NPT nipples, and a couple sharbite to 1" water softener connector flex lines. We installed it and filled slowly per the instructions. One thing i will add is, make sure your drain line is secured when you first start your first regen cycle, because it blew out with high pressure and whipped around because the air pressure in the tank. One thing we missed before running the first regen cycle was to let the water run for 20 minutes before starting the initial regen cycle. After running 2 regen cycles, we tried the water and had slight iron stain after letting water sit in a dog bowl overnight, but it wiped right off, whereas before, we would have to scrub. We let the water run for half and hour and then ran another regen cycle. Since then, we have zero water staining, the water tastes just like fresh bottled water, and everything is great. The water does look cloudy when it first comes out due to the oxygen created by the process, but it quickly clears. After using for a week, this system is working great for us. The bonus with this system is that this one comes with the stainless bypass valve. I didn't want the version with the plastic bypass valve. If anything changes, i will update my review at a later time, but as of now, we are very pleased with how this is working. ... show more

  • Game changer
Nobody out here can get the sulphur smell out of their well water, but my water is crystal clear, and has NO smell. Here's the trick: I rebedded it before I installed with catalytic carbon. Not regular carbon, has to be catalytic. Then I put it before the water softener, not after. The only down side, is that I have to stay on top of my water softener salt because it doesn't "let you know" with water smell when i run out! ... show more

  • Quality and function as expected for the price, satisfied with this product.
Works as advertised, sulphur smell an iron issues addressed. Two sets of instructions received, took some sorting out to get to what needed to be done for installation, much is already accomplished or calibrated as received. Some additional clarity there would be good. Other than that if you have basic tools and skills it's pretty straight forward. ... show more

  • Good for about a year.
It worked well for about a year. Now not so much. Our water is smelling terrible again. A local water guy tells me this is a frequent scenario. He said the media is wrong. He says many use a carbon material that doesn't last. Of course he wants to sell me his system for twice the price.

  • Media is not effective. Have to spend additional money on a stronger carbon media.
The pre-loaded media for this model is not very effective. It did not remove my rotten egg smell and the water was still discolored. After talking with a few people in the business, I had to buy $300 In catalytic carbon. I had to disconnect the system, man-handle it outside and dump out all of the old media and then load new gravel and the carbon. Very messy, but the carbon did the trick. Water is now clean and odor free. If you have a strong sulfur smell, I recommend a filter that is pre loaded with catalytic carbon. ... show more

It did help with the iron and smell in the water, but has a lot of air in the lines. Especally after backwashing. Revised Review: After working with great customer service we are working on getting almost all of the air out off the lines. Torrey has to be one of the best customer service reps that I have ever worked with. That is why I changed my review to 5 stars. Thanks Torrey for all your help! ... show more

  • Worked perfectly for 6 months then totally stopped Customer service no help--
For 6 months it removed the iron (very bad) and worked perfectly. Then one day completely stopped working. No water flow through the unit whatsoever. Backwashed twice in a row. Great water pressure on the backwash, none when it was in service mode. Wouldn't believe me that something was wrong with the control head. I removed and flushed the filter media and spent almost $200 on replacement media. Still no flow through the unit even with no media at all in it. They keep telling me that is impossible. Offered to sell me a new control head so now I will have spent more on parts than I did to purchase the unit new. Customer service keeps telling me this cannot happen. Guess I am buying another one from someone else. ... show more
