Before I got this, our toilet (a decent one, not a cheapo) would clog three to four times a month. Since I got this a few months ago, not one clog. There were a couple times when I thought it would clog, but I just needed to flush twice and it cleared. The seat is very flat which makes it comfortable, more so than those seats that are tapered in toward the bowl. I'm not sure if the one-piece design is worth the extra cost, but it does make it a little easier to clean. Note: Inspect it carefully because our tank lid is warped. I expect they'll replace it when I get around to letting them know, it's not that big a deal to us but it probably would be to most as it's somewhat noticeable. Our lid has to sit crooked anyway because of an attachment (bidet sprayer holder), so it doesn't make much difference to us. I do have a similar model I got for the downstairs in 2014. It has the same clog resistance and is almost the same model but it's the two-piece version. I had to call them about a problem once and their support was extremely responsive and helpful. ... show more

    • Quiet, easy to clean, and no clog worries

I was just able to install two of the three toilets I ordered last year. It’s been a slow remodel but getting close to the end. These toilets replace a two piece toilet from 1997. The flush time is about 65 percent faster due to the much larger discharge pipe and with that added suction nothing gets clogged or left behind. The refill is quieter and faster. Faster because it is using less water. I won’t have to worry about any tank-to-toilet bolts rusting and the effort that took to repair ever again. So far so good. We've had this toilet for a few weeks now and I was finally able to put the plunger away. My wife is probably the best toilet clogger on the planet. Since we got this toilet, she has not been able to clog this toilet. I have a funny story... I got tired of unclogging the toilet every time my wife had to do her business. I got this toilet and crossed my fingers that this would not clog. Right after I installed the toilet, I asked her if she had to go, but she said not right now. A few hours later, I just sat down, my kid came out and said that mom needs you. I go toward the bathroom and she said she clogged the toilet. I said that can't be possible. She said I can flush the toilet, but the contents, not including the toilet paper, in the toilet won't go down. She said that the size of the log in the toilet was so big that it wouldn't fit down the hole. I said that it isn't the toilet's fault, and the only toilet that has a big enough hole for that is a port-a-pottie. ... show more

It's a nice looking toilet. It's comfortable with the elongated seat. Easy to clean. Now the negative. The water level is so low that if you have a loose stool it sits outside the water. The water isn't enough to push it down . You have to scrub the poop off. The flushing isn't as great as I was expecting. ... show more

Finally a toilet with a good flush. If I were to need another toilet, this is the one I would get. Between this toilet and the toto 2 toilet it would be hard to choose which one is better however I think this American standard 4 toilet has the more powerful by a minoot amount. Its a 1 piece which is nice and its glossy and super slick looking finish is very nice if I had to say a con for this toilet I would have to say its slower to fill which some might consider its a pro. I love the powerful 1.6 gpf but do miss the good old days when they didn't have restrictions on gpf. This toilet is a buy for sure. You won't regret making this purchase unless the price scares you off but isn't your butt worth it! ... show more

    • AMAZING TOILET. SAVED ME $$$ FROM THE PLUMBER

AMAZING. I just bought a house, and both toilets were gross. I honestly thought I had clogged drains because my downstairs toilet flushed slowly, and the upstairs toilet didn't flush at all. I saw these toilets had decent reviews at first glance, but you never really know anymore until you get to test the product for yourself. I decided that I would try these toilets, mind you these were "pre-owned" in like new condition so I had no idea what to expect. Delivery was right on time, and BOTH toilets looked to be in flawless condition. As an added bonus all the flushing mechanics are pre-installed... Nice! Now for installation, I would recommend having the old toilet discarded and getting NEXT BY DANCO ALL-IN-ONE wax ring. This will work if your toilet flange is above, level, or below floor level. I would recommend a new water line as well if yours is old, the toilet doesn't need much line from the water connection, maybe 6-8 inches. As for the final conclusion. BOTH of my toilets flush perfectly now, didn't even need to auger the drain pipes like I thought I might. This is a fast and pretty powerful flush. No toilet swirling, no non-sense. Only problem I see one potentially facing is if you are taking massive craps and use a bunch of toilet paper, you may need a few flushes. But this is a water concervative toilet with great flushing power. Honestly better than I was expecting them to be so I decided it was worth leaving a review. Hope this helps someone, highly recommend for a toilet replacement that will be used regularly. ... show more
