We got a new mattress and after years of steam cleaning the old one, I decided it was time to be proactive about protecting the new one. I love mattress covers like this, that zip around and encase the entire mattress because it's almost like a second skin. This one in particular sets the standard for any future mattress protectors HIGH. It's made very well, stretchy and breathable, ultra soft top (even though I still will use a sheet to protect it) and the zippers glide easily. It's very comfortable, you really can't tell it's there except for the cotton top adds a small layer of cushion and feels good on the skin if you're not using a sheet. It's really easy to get on with 2 people on either side pulling up at the same time, and easy enough to get off by yourself if needed. Definitely recommend.

I have had the same mattress protector on my bed for a very long time. It was large and bulky and made the sheets ruffle in places that made it uncomfortable. Also, it was crinkly and loud, but I thought that was what a protector did. "It's ok that it sounds like a bunch of toddlers opening up their candy bars all night. It's protecting the mattress. What's that honey? I can't hear you over the mattress protector. But hey, it's doing its job." Little did I know, there was another way. I also had never heard of a cover that wrapped around the whole mattress. Initially, I thought that was going to make for difficult work on my own with a king-sized mattress, but it really was not too bad. Took about seven to ten minutes of nudging it along and I was quite pleased that the strength of the thing allowed for me to do it as I was worried it would rip. It did not. My bed has not been that comfortable in any recent memory. I really did not think it was going to make that much of a difference, but it did. Comfortable, silent, flat-it did exactly what it said it would do in terms of form factor. I hope not to test it being waterproof, but after feeling the fabric, I am pretty sure it will work there too. We were a little hasty when we selected this item, and we didn't realize that we were getting a mattress protector that we literally needed to put the entire mattress inside of. That is not a simple task, and it's more than my wife wants to do on her own. She wishes that we'd just gotten a regular mattress protector that goes onto the mattress like a sheet. Once you get past the point above, this is a very well-made mattress protector. The waterproof materials lines the entire inside of the mattress protector--top, bottom, and sides. So, the level of protection is very good here. The zipper seems like good quality, and I believe this will last a long time, based on our early experience with it. No complaints that warrant a star reduction. If you realize what you are buying here, then I think you will be very happy with it.
