The Amazon Basics smart light bulbs are so easy to setup if you already have the Alexa app. Plug the bulb into a light socket, turn on the power, open the app, scan the QR code and Alexa takes care of this rest. I love that these bulbs have various shades of white light. I typically am a fan of daylight and cool white and these bulbs do not disappoint. There are also the options for white, soft white and warm light. There are 15 different colors to choose from as well The bulbs are dimmable from 0-100%. The bulbs are able to programmed for specific schedules is you wish. I prefer to just ask Alexa to turn lights on and off as needed. Set up was easy with Bluetooth on my Alexa app. The bulb is fully dimmable but not only that, you can change colors. I love the dimming option, at night it makes a nice reading light with disturbing others. Can also make it bright when needed and it’s easy to control. This smart bulb was easy to connect following the included instructions and using the Alexa app. The bulb has a nice variety of colors, and is easily controlled by voice commands using Alexa (we have an Alexa device in most rooms of our house). At only 60w equivalent, this bulb would be a little dim for our liking if we used it for a floor lamp; however, in the table lamp we are using it in, it works well. This Amazon basics bulb fits the bill if you need a color changing, dimming, or automated bulb. The color temperature listed on the box is warm white (2700K) but it is color changing, so you can set a cool or white light as well. The setup is very easy using the Alexa app and it is easy to control using the Alexa app or Echo devices. However, with the recent pushes to allow more cross-compatibility, I'm surprised this is limited to only working within the Amazon ecosystem. This lightbulb is awesome! It is like a normal lightbulb that you easily screw in. But when you download the alexa app you are able to use voice control to turn the light on and off and you are also able to change the color of the lightbulb. The light is nice and very bright if you just screw it in without using the app, but with the app, as stated previously, you can change the brightness and color. This just feels and looks like any other light bulb but no, it has some additional cool features. Once I set it in the lamp and turn it on. The connection with Alexa was quick. I was able to access the device, rename it and create some routines to control the lamp on a predefined schedule. I also like how easy it is now, to just using voice to ask Alexa to turn the light on/off, change intensity and light colors. It worked flawlessly from the start. This smart bulb has great features: it can dim, there are 5 options for color tone for 'white' light, and there are 10+ options for fun colors. Setup and control are super simple through Alexa. I'll definitely be buying more of these bulbs if only for the color tone and dimming options.
