have had two of these installed for 1 year on my exterior doors. installation was pretty easy and have not had to replace any batteries as of yet. Programming is straightforward - limited to 10 pin numbers (probably the biggest downside to the lock). This comes in an unnecessary amount of tiny pieces that you have to assemble and the instructions aren't great but if I can figure it out, anyone can. Pin pad works great and it's easy to program.

    • I hate this thing and bought a Schlage instead

It seemed like a good deal as the Schlage was 100 bucks more, but I guess 100 bucks is the price of having a locked door. Check it before you put in a code every time you use it as you think it is working fine. This thing I just find the door randomly unlocked even though I set it to lock every time, one out of 10 times it won't be. I can't find any reason for it, there is no binding, it works 90% of the time, makes no weird noises when I stand there and wait for it to lock it always locks but then sometimes it doesn't work and well it needs to work 100% or it is no use. I prefer the way the Schlage is always locked and it doesn't use a motor to physical turn the lock button, instead it engages a pin to allow the handle on the outside to turn the actual latch, so the only way it can fail is safe (locked) vs the amazon one can fail open (and does). ... show more

The item came in quickly. Installation was not easy, but was accomplished finally. The directions are not the best. The programming was not specific to the lock set I purchased, but I finally figured it out. The lock looks great and works easily. Great addition to my home at a great price. Works flawlessly every time. The constructions is solid and simple. The programming is straight forward. So far battery life is great. And the styling is attractive. You could tell me that it is a Kwikset or a Schlage and I wouldn’t doubt you. All at half the cost of your name brand models.

    • Noisy. Keypad not flat.

Overall, this product works fine but I have a few objections. First, the keypad didn't quite sit flush against the door once installed. There's a decent gap between the door and the top of the keypad... Perhaps it's unique to my door, but I doubt it. I think instead that the keypad assembly isn't stiff enough to avoid flexing from the tension caused by the installation screws. My second objection is that the mechanism is pretty noisy. This is particularly annoying because the mechanism often ratchets back and forth several times during the locking sequence. And lastly, the keypad unlock button feels 'lumpy'... not quite sure how to describe it better, but it's a minor annoyance. But it works and was among the cheapest options, so I guess I got what I paid for. ... show more

Great lock, the only problem I had was the door handle is the same height as my storm door handle and this wouldn’t allow me to close the storm door
