The description implies that it has a thermostat - it does not. It's either on or off and operated by a manual switch. There are three different power settings but it will not shut itself off once the room is warm enough. Good heater for a small trailer or RV. Very quiet.

I bought this to warm up an apartment sized bathroom with a tile floor located in an old building that gets pretty cold in the winter. It is surprisingly capable of warming the space and making it cozy enough to be able to take a shower without dreading getting into the shower (haha)! I really was surprised how well it worked! Also, during our coldest months I left it on for maybe close to six hours straight and had no problems (although I obviously kept it away from any materials that could cause fire, just in case). Now I just run it in the evening when I want to take a relaxing shower before bed, and typically it takes maybe 30 minutes for it to warm the entire bathroom to a temperature that's comfortable. It's not a large bathroom (just a single sink, shower/tub combo, and toilet in a 1,000 sq ft two bed/two bath apartment so if you have a large bathroom, this might not work or it just might take longer to heat the space, but I definitely recommend for a small-ish type bathroom).

at 500 W it provides about 1/3 of the heat of a regular space heater. It seems to me it does not even provide that much heat. You can put your hand right in front of it and it takes a while before you feel much heat. A 1500 word heater will turn on 18 inch long piece of half-inch coiled wire bright red and very quickly burn you if you are close to it . this heater is nowhere near that. When you put your hand in front of it it takes 10 or 15 seconds to figure out whether the heater is on or just the fan .apparently it has no thermostat like advertised and so produces the same amount of heat on every setting. only the fan speed varies with each setting . It seems safe enough. Mine goes off if it tips. Seems durable enough. Mine has been on for two months and seems to be working fine. The lack of a thermostat might be a plus since that is a weak spot in most space heaters that breaks. at 500 W there is no little risk of overheating since the heat generated is remarkably little.

This device is sold as an “Electric space heater with thermostat”. The manual call it this too. But it does not have a thermostat. It just turns off when it gets too hot and must be manually turned unplugged and turned on to function again. A thermostat is defined as, “ a device that automatically regulates temperature, or that activates a device when the temperature reaches a certain point.” This heater in no way meets that definition. We bought it to heat a cool space to around 75 F expecting it to turn off when it reached this temperature, then turn back on when the space cooled down. It cannot do that. It simply turns on, heats without stopping until it gets so hot then turns off. It has to be unplugged a turned back on manually to heat again. In no way can it regulate temperature and it easily will burn and melt items before it reaches its “overheat shut off temperature”. We sent it back.
