Overall, this pump works pretty good for moving water around in a remote pond. There is an ok length of cord on the unit, but for my purpose, an extra 10ish feet would have been nice. I hooked it directly to (3) 100 watt, 12 V solar panels. I was surprised to see it work with just one panel. I am not sure if the max height is accurate or not but I can say it looks like it moving about a gallon and a half per second on a sunny day with a height of about 3 feet. The screw fitting looks like it would work with a regular garden hose, but that just doesnt fit right. ... show more

    • GREAT POWERFUL PUMP
I switched my 110V Pond Pump the minute this pump arrived. I tested it on my 2 100 Watt solar panels, and it went to work immediately. The pump never failed. It's orange handle shows up in the bottom of the pond, making it unprofessional for the pond. It is a little bulky, but it saves me money on electric bills and stuff don't get jammed in the pump as much as my pond pump. Sadly, it will not work at night or as soon as the sun goes down, it stopped working. I'll add a battery in the future. The most down side to this pump is, it is not a brushless pump like my petco pond pump. This pump will eventually wear out and stop working in a year or a few year. I'll have to keep replacing it. But compare it to my electric bill, I will have a lot of money. ... show more

So ... I am one of those guys that seldom returns things to Amazon. If the item has a high value, I will return it. A $40 dollar pump? I would not bother. Well, here is my exception. Really? Why did I ignore the other reviewers. THIS IS NOT A SUBMERSIBLE PUMP! Yes, it does deliver the 26Ft head. BUT, After a week under water it began throwing clouds of rust into the water. Seriously? Why would you make a submersible pump that is not submersible. Junk. Do not buy this! Save your time and money. ... show more

    • Fussy pump
For the price it works but it is very fussy on what garden hose it will allow. For the lower end plastic connectors some brands may work and screw on and others will not screw on at all. I have had no problems with any kind of higher grade garden hose with a metal connection. When buying this pump just remember any metal connector will work. A quick fix I found for plastic connectors is buy 1 female to female connector and 1 male to male connector both adapters HAVE to be metal and that fixed my problem. I rated this pump with 3 stars because of the fussy male connection but other than that it works well and have used it for 2 years on and off. ... show more

Excellent pump easy to wire and attach hoses to. I've rigged mine to work with a solar power pack so that I don't have to run cables. I have it on a timer and it is very very reliable. I'm actually using it to water plants in a remote garden through a rain barrel with solar power and with a little wiring knowledge and a DC plug adapter this fits the bill perfectly. ... show more

    • This works for 2-8 months, I had two. They used bolts that rust output valve bolts dissolve
I used one for about 8 months 5 hrs per day. The outlet valve bolts disolved in the water I got new stainless bolts one more month and it died. I told “support”about it, I never got response. I think they made these for those few days a year when your boat is swamped by a wave. That way they could last for decades. It did say also for ponds, but that is not true. There are 2 issues I had with this product. 1) they completely lie about lift capacity, near 6 feet and there is not enough pressure to water a garden. Furthermore I checked and rechecked EVERYTHING. I even hooked a (charged) car battery directly to it and no love. 2) Rust. it is made of poor quality steel (I cant call it stainless because it rusts, real stainless will not rust). So I got ripped off by china again. Furthermore the wire going into it is such a light gage that I cant see how it will carry the necessary current to lift like it claims. I have to consider the 5 star ratings are fake, The product I received in no way will work as listed. ... show more
