I have a BenQ PD3200Q monitor (love this thing!) that ships with a nice piece of configuration software called Display Pilot (from Portrait Displays, Inc.). I had been using the HDMI input on the monitor because my laptop has no DisplayPorts, but does have one USB-C and one TB3, I just didn't have a TB3 -> DP cable. I was also using another StarTech product (VS421HD4KA 4-Port HDMI Automatic Video Switch) to view my OTB device, NAS display, a Raspberry Pi, etc. and while I would also recommend it if you need it, I found that the Display Pilot software couldn't interface with the monitor fully enough. It could tell what kind of monitor I had, but couldn't display the levels or change color modes and some other things. I opened a ticket with Portrait Displays but I never heard back, though I did just get a software update today, so I may check on it again. But, this adapter works splendidly. I only have a DP -> mini-DP cable so it goes TB3->StarTech adapter->miniDP input and since it doesn't go through the HDMI switch, the Display Pilot software works again and I don't have to do settings adjustments with the on-screen menus (which are fine, as well) or the puck that BenQ gives you for hotkeys. I gave it an overall of 4 stars because I wish the "tail" on this adapter were either removable or a little bit longer. ... show more

works fine using the DP 1.4 cable that came with the G9. i couldn't figure out how to push 120+Hz, so living with 60, but since this setup is mainly for work, it's totally acceptable. getting the full 5120x1440 and HDR experience.

Worked with vive cosmos elite np on my laptop. Just make sure your usb port is 3.2 dp to your gpu. Great buy, let's me use laptop with vive, total win.

I connected it up with a vesa certified cable. It shows that it initially recognizes it as a usb display port and then windows says that it doesn't recognize it before the display actually comes up. tried with a different cable and got the same message. If I unplug it and plug it back in with windows running it will give me a picture but zero stability. Back to the drawing board ... show more
