  • Great upgrade for any JKU without premium sound
Well worth it. I have a 2016 JKU Sahara and directions were accurate. My jeep had the stock system in without the premium sound upgrade. This is definitely the way to go. The bass from this little speaker is great. I do recommend taking the driver side door off when taking the seat out. This didn't cross my mind until I was reinstalling the seat. Install time did take about 2 hrs, but I was also a bit distracted with kids at the time. All in all, install wasn't bad and the upgraded sound is great. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Makes a 47 year old guys butt rumble!
Wow! I wasn't sure if this would give me the bass I needed from such a small speaker but it turned out to be a great investment! it only took one bribe of feeding two teenage boys dinner and they installed it in under an hour while I watched and cheered them on. I am not an electronics guy. I am continually amazed at how toasters work. That being said, I actually would have felt fairly confident installing it myself. There were only a couple of steps that needed to be verified on the instruction sheet from Youtube to make sure we weren't going to blow up my jeep but the installation was straight forward and easy. I highly recommend this subwoofer for all of you jeepers out there. It will truly give you a great bass sound. You can even tick off your next door neighbor when you go to work at three in the morning! Bonus! ... show more

  • Pricy but fits like a dream!
Super easy install. Everything needed to go straight into my 2018 Wrangler JK and mount perfectly under the seat. Adjustment remote will definitely be needed as this little 8" sub/amp combo delivers a pretty ferocious beat. You'll need to dial it up on some songs and dial it back down when you start listening to Lil Jon and The Eastside Boys. To be as compact and easily hidden under the seat, make sure you leave it a tip for the free massage you get every drive. I've been to brothels with less personalized service as this Alpine sub. ... show more

  • Blown in 2 months!!!
Sound was ok, it was great the way it mounted under the seat. But the sub shorted out in 2 months.

  • Underwhelming, Sloppy Unpredictable Bass,
The 8" sub is not great. It does provide more bass, but it's sloppy and unpredictable. Hip hop or EDM where the bass is simply a thumping noise it's fine, but bass where you have notes that roll up and down or play bass lines and melodies it performs poorly. It's sloppy. Some songs it sounds acceptable, other songs it will max itself out and make a rattling noise. Maybe my expectations were too much for a sub this size? I feel like I got a different sub from everyone else because there were so many 4 and 5 star reviews. It's so difficult to explain in words how much bass you get, but the best I can do is this: My computer speakers (Logitech) have a 180 watt 8" sub with about 1 cubic foot ported enclosure. Though the Alpine is in about 1/4th the cubic volume and in a sealed enclosure, the clarity, volume, and quality is nowhere close. And my computer sub's cone is the same size, and only 60 watts more from the amp. Like how they say with cars, there's no replacement for displacement. Subs need enclosures with volume to really sound good. Jeeps are loud, they drive with windows down, doors off, roofs off, loud as hell mud tires that wail at 80 mph. A lackluster sub will not keep up with a noise floor that high. ... show more

  • Great little sub but watch out...
This is a great little sub that gives the JK just enough bass without sacrificing space. The WRA is a bit pricey vs the regular PWE-S8, and if you are comfortable wiring and fabricating then this kit is overkill. A star is lost because if you own a 2017 JKU or newer these brackets DO NOT FIT without some custom fitting anyway - so paying an extra $220 for wiring and brackets is a bit much. If I had to do it again I would just buy the PWE-S8 and do the fitting myself. ... show more

  • Great speaker though
5 months later one bracket broke in same place as others described. No biggie. Put 2 big flat washers under screws and over broken bracket. Great speaker though. Also love that it's plug and play. When / if the other bracket breaks, just gonna buy big ass zip ties. Aloha.

  • Dynamite really does come in small packages!
The PWE-S8 was just what my JKU needed. Let's face it, the stock audio in a Jeep is pathetic! Now, I can feel the kick drum and bass. This sub is completely hidden and I feel confident leaving the Jeep parked even with the top and doors off. The installation is a bit difficult and time consuming, but well worth it. Use caution when running the wiring harness behind the dash as the metal around the head unit is razor sharp. ... show more
