    • Is anyone there at Alphard?

The media could not be loaded. About two weeks ago, my V2Pro started acting crazy. Instead of moving forward, it made funny sounds and did slow halting circles. When I got it home, I found that the right wheel would lurch, then stop, then lurch etc. I took a video of the failing wheel and reported the problem to Alphard via their website. I received an email telling me that they were very busy but would get back to me as quickly as possible. The next day, I sent a supplemental email adding more information to help diagnose the problem. I have used there chat bot twice, describing the problem and expressing concern that I haven't heard from them. I left a message on their phone number show on their website. I have heard nothing from this company. It has been nearly two weeks since I first notified Alphard of my problem and I have heard nothing. I am 80 and need some help when the temperatures get in the 90's and expect to buy another kind of electric cart. So I'm looking at having wasted the $'s for this plus what I spent on the ClickGear cart I bought for it. Based on my experience, if you have one of these units, you had better hope you don't need support. --- To follow up, I fixed the problem myself. Opening up the unit, I found that the heavily insulated wires between the control board and the motor in the right wheel had been torn open and a small wire had been severed (it had become a "loose connection"). I soldered a patch wire to secure the connection and wrapped it up with electrical tape. This is not nearly as robust and the original. Upon reflection, I remember using the unit for 9 holes when the motor itself lurched backwards as I demanded the unit to move forward. Eventually realizing that the clamps that held the golf cart to the motor's axle had become loose. I adjusted the clamp and the motor stopped lurching. I'm guessing that this 'violent' lurching may have done the damaged to the wires. Advice, make sure the clamps are tight. I am upgrading my review because the company eventually sent me a replacement motor. Still, the customer support was minimal and I spent a long time not knowing if anyone was going to respond. ... show more
