  • Easy Golf Cart Lithium Battery Conversion Easy Golf Cart Lithium Battery Conversion
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
I had a friend recently convert his golf cart to one lithium battery. When my lead acid batteries finally started showing their age I bought this battery to put in my 48V Yamaha Golf Cart. A few things to note: First, this single battery is much larger than a single lead acid battery. It will not drop in and fit perfectly to the space where your old batteries were. You will need to make a special mount for it. For me, I put put a couple of blocks of wood together to make a level surface then used some ratchet straps to hold it in place. It weighs around 70 lbs, but since this replaced four lead acid batteries the each weighed about 70 lbs (probably 250 lbs +), this is much lighter! Second, this battery is essentially plug and play. It's nice not having to run a circuit of interconnected batteries like with the lead acid. Just put the correct wires on the correct terminals and you'll be in business. Third, you will need to get a new charger for this battery. The OEM charger and charging port will not work. I got the CHINS 48V lithium charger. It mounts to the terminals easily (these are the wires on top of the battery in the picture). It has a quick connector and charges extremely quickly (went from 50% out of the box to 100% in about 3 hours). Fourth, this battery has an app that will let you know important information, like charge level, battery temperature, discharge levels, etc. It has been convenient so far and I have no complaints. It is Bluetooth, so you must be in close proximity to connect. Last, while this battery didn't make my cart any faster (that's a motor thing), it did improve it's performance going up hills drastically. Before, my cart could only crawl up steep hills. Now it has nearly the same speed on the hills as it does on flat ground! I would chalk this up to not only being better performance from the battery, but also weight saving from losing the old heavy batteries. Also, after playing 18 holes on a course that is anything but flat (very hilly course in East Texas) this battery used 14% of it's capacity. That is with two guys on the cart, our clubs, and a big ice chest. So theoretically we could play 6+ rounds of golf before recharging. I could barely get two rounds in with the other. Needless to say, I am very impressed so far with this battery. It has greatly improved the performance of my golf cart, it was very easy to install, and I have no regrets. Yes it was a pricey investment, but well worth it. This will last longer and in the end save me more money over time. Hope you find this review helpful! ... show more

  • 1 Year Strong in my Golf Cart. 1 Year Strong in my Golf Cart.
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
CHINS is here to stay! I’ve been using the CHINS 51v Battery in my EZGO golf cart for almost a year now, and honestly, it’s the best upgrade I’ve made. No question about it. When I first started looking at lithium batteries, I was super hesitant. I mean, lead-acid was all I’d ever used, and the price tag on lithium seemed intimidating. I read a ton of reviews, and everyone kept saying you had to go with expensive brands like Allied Lithium or Eco Battery if you wanted reliability. But after all that research, I took a chance on this one, and I’m so glad I did. This battery hasn’t let me down once. Sure, I didn’t notice a big jump in speed, but the torque difference is incredible. Hills are no problem anymore, and loading my cart into the back of my truck is so much easier. The biggest game-changer, though, has been the range. With my old lead-acid batteries, I was lucky to get 7-10 miles on a charge. Now? I consistently get at least 30 miles every time. Another unexpected win is the Bluetooth app. I thought it was just a gimmick at first, but I use it all the time to keep track of the battery. It’s super handy, and it’s definitely given me some peace of mind. One of the best parts of switching to lithium, though, is how much easier it’s made everything. With my old lead-acid batteries, I was always checking the water levels and dealing with maintenance. It was such a pain. Now? I just plug it in, and I’m good to go. Not having to mess with all that has been a huge relief. Installing the battery was pretty simple, too. If you’ve got an EZGO cart like mine, you’ll need to spend 15 minutes grinding off a few brackets for the lead-acid setup, but after that, it fits perfectly. It even leaves half the battery compartment empty, so you can use that space for extra storage or upgrades. After almost a year, I’ve had zero issues—no overheating, no interruptions, nothing. I did run the battery down to zero once because I forgot to plug it in, but that’s when I learned something cool. Unlike lead-acid batteries that cut out around 30%, lithium batteries drain all the way to zero before your cart stops, which is how you get so much more range. If you’re thinking about switching to lithium, I’d say stop overthinking it and just do it. I was nervous at first, but this battery has made using my golf cart so much better. For me, it’s been worth every penny. ... show more

  • Very happy, 48V 2004 Club Car Precedent
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
We bought this in August and I self installed it over the weekend following receipt of the shipment so this review is based on using the this set up for over three months now. We are completely happy, we will never go back to lead acid. We have owned this cart since 2012 and needed to replace our 3rd set of batteries. For roughly the same price as a new set of name brand lead acid batteries, I shed around 255 pounds off the cart and gained likely a minimum of 1600 more charge cycles. In other words, I expect to get 10+ years out of this battery. My range is now around 40 miles with constant uphill and downhill speeds. I am happy to also say the battery allows the speed limiter to regen charge the battery when going downhill. I gained a consistent 1 mph (gps verified) top speed too. The cart still has it's original stock motor and controller but larger diameter rims and tires with a lift kit and rear seat with heavy duty rear springs. With that said, we went from 18 mph (at best with a light load on a long level straight section or downhill) to a constant 19 mph no matter the terrain or load on the cart. Acceleration is noticably better too. It seems reasonable to assume all the measurable and seat of the pants improvements are probably a function of the weight savings and slightly higher, but constant voltage of this set up compared to the old lead acid set up. I did have to move a few things around and make modifications to the battery compartment and electrical harness. Don't let this scare you, even though I am not a trained golf cart mechanic, it was no big deal because I took some time to research what needed to be done. If you are considering this as a DIY project just make sure to take your time to understand what is involved before hand, you don't want to screw anything up or expose yourself to any unnecessary hazards. All the information you will need is available online from a variety of sources. I also added a LiFePO4 specific gauge so we can keep track of accurate state of charge, Amps, and Volts. It updates in real time so we can keep track in use. It is fascinating for me to see the amperage draw while in use. We have been able to learn a lot about the battery draw based on load, terrain and speed. Our cart feels lighter and has considerably more pep than before, the ride and handling are more crisp and the cart is better at carrying passengers. This is what a cart should be like from the factory. Finally, I also added an onboard 15 amp smart charger and routed the cord out to a convenient location for storage during use but also for easily access to plug it in for charging. I spent quite a few months researching battery makers and the set up I wanted to go with. I decided on a single 48V battery from Chins based on quality of materials, construction, and price along with reviews of the company from previous customers. The included Bluetooth software is basically functional, but has a hard time connecting with my phone. I do like the individual cell voltage read out, and the ability to monitor internal temps. It also tells me amp draw or charge along with battery percentage. With all that said, I find it much easier to rely on the above mentioned gauge. It is nice to see a very consistent reading between what the battery is reporting on the Bluetooth app and what the gauge is showing, so I am confident it is accurate. Thank you Chins for making this project possible for us. We are very happy with your product in our application. I plan to update this review occasionally over time. ... show more

  • What an upgrade but the charger is horrible
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
This is the best upgrade for your golf cart !!! It was easy to install and lasts for hours we ride our cart all around our neighbourhood for hours playing my 4,000 watt stereo with no issues. Well I was happy with it until my charger burn out after five weeks decent battery might as well keep the charger. I give them one stars. I wouldn’t buy again from the seller pay a little bit more and get a better charger. ... show more

  • Glad I got the bluetooth 48V to upgrade my Ryobi zero-turn mower Glad I got the bluetooth 48V to upgrade my Ryobi zero-turn mower
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
So far, I'm very pleased with this 48V Bluetooth BMS 100Ah battery and absolutely recommend it. My Ryobi RY48ZTR100 42" electric zero-turn mower came with four original Leoch 12V 100Ah, seen in the 1st photo. Those 270 pounds of visibly-deformed AGM batteries were OK when new, but within 4 years went to holding no charge at all. This 88-pound LiFePO4 battery replaces all four 12V with the same 48V 100Ah total capacity. Power doesn't fade with LiFePO4 batteries, and I easily can cut about twice as much as when the AGM cells were new. In fact, 2-3 acres of very heavy cutting is doable without bringing the CHINS battery flat. The replacement of the batteries isn't trivial, but there is a Facebook group, "Ryobi 48v Riding Mowers," which has lots of useful info from people who have done it. The single-48V replacement is the easiest, needing only a change of the charger and some bracing in the battery compartment, which I did with the 2X lumber painted yellow and some cord for tie-downs in the second photo. If this battery didn't have the Bluetooth monitoring, I would have needed to drill a larger mounting hole and replace the charge meter with one that understands the LiFePO4 voltage curve, but I'm very happy to instead trust the Bluetooth readouts (example shown in 3rd and 4th photos). After seeing how the original AGM batteries got deformed by charge imbalance, I love being able to see the internal cell voltages and balancing for this battery. As you can see, the Android BAT-BMS app displays are really confidence-inspiring, and the app seems to work fine as long as you don't walk out of Bluetooth range with it running (it gives very wrong readings if you do that). I know I paid significantly more to get this battery than to get one without Bluetooth, but I don't trust those. I've actually heard more than a few negative comments about non-Bluetooth BMS LiFePO4 batteries and sort of believe them, but the Bluetooth BMS leaves nothing to hide, so my trust level is a lot higher... and that matters, because even the AGM batteries I had came pretty close to bursting due to bad charge imbalance (I didn't even know that could happen with AGM batteries!). ... show more

  • An excellent battery to convert a Ryobi riding mower to lithium
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
The Ryobi RM-480e was one of the first electric riding mowers, does a very good job at cutting grass, but unfortunately was shipped with four lead acid deep cycle batteries hooked together in series to provide 48v power. This arrangement means most users will experience battery-related problems within 2 or 3 years due to the charging issues with the four battery setup. The CHINS is not quite a drop-in replacement - you will need to cut some wood spacers and use straps to replace the battery hold-down bracket - but the necessary modifications are easy to do for anyone comfortable with hand tools. The CHINS battery holds more effective charge than the four lead acid battery it replaces. When new, the four lead acid batteries will power the Ryobi in mowing about 1.5 acres. With the CHINS unit, the same Ryobi mower will mow 1.5 acres and have about 50% power remaining. Ryobi recommends leaving the lead acid batteries hooked up to the Ryobi charger when not in use since they will discharge slowly even when not under load. The CHINS battery holds it's charge for a very long time when not in use so continuous charging is not needed although you should replace the standard Ryobi charger with a unit specifically designed to charge 48v LiFePO4 batteries. The battery management system (BMS) of the CHINS is accessible via an app on your Bluetooth Android or iOS device and provides much more detail than the battery gauge that comes on the mower. The CHINS battery has a wider temperature operating range than the original lead acid batteries and when matched with an LiFePO4 charger appears to charge more quickly but with its greater capacity overall charging time is about the same. The only reason I didn't rate the CHINS at 5 stars is that the app does not always make a successful Bluetooth connection with the battery BMS on its first try. That being said, I have never had to try more than 2 or 3 times to get a successful connection. ... show more

  • Great upgrade for Ryobi ZT480e
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
Replaced the four lead acid batteries with this beast. Changeover fairly easy, the most important point being the bypass for the original charger. Bluetooth app works great and I only used 25% on my 1/2 acre of extremely long grass with no power loss.

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Upgrade for My Ryobi 480e – Almost Plug & Play
Size: 48V 100AH + 58.4V 18A
I used this CHINS 48V 100Ah lithium battery as an upgrade for my Ryobi 480e, and it worked with minimal effort, almost plug-and-play. The performance difference is huge compared to the stock batteries. It’s lighter, charges faster, and delivers consistent power without voltage drop during heavy use. The build quality feels solid, and it came well-packaged. I appreciate that it has a built-in BMS for protection, so I didn’t have to worry about overcharging or over-discharging. ✅ Pros: Works great with the Ryobi 480e with minimal modifications Much lighter and longer-lasting than lead-acid batteries Built-in BMS adds safety and reliability Charges quickly and holds power well ❌ Cons: A bit pricey upfront, but worth it for the longevity Bottom line: If you want to modernize your Ryobi 480e with lithium power, this is an excellent upgrade with very little hassle. ... show more
