I am here to deliver a warning to everyone buying this. This product is a terrible choice for beginners and experts of metal detecting. Upon unboxing this item, labeled, “easy for kids” I see a multitude of cheap plastic pieces and poorly made instructions. After assembling this, in two hours of stressful work, I was bombarded with a horrendous screeching noise, and after carefully reading the instructions and setting it up, was surprised that it couldn’t detect a pile of coins from a millimeter away. Disheartened, I took it to the beach, in hopes it would find me some buried treasure, but instead, have my eardrums assaulted by the same horrid screeching sound. In conclusion, I cannot advise more on how this is not worth even a dollar, and is an easy way to ruin a child’s fun and enjoyment and destroy their love for metal detecting. ... show more

I purchased this metal detector for my 10 year old grandson for his birthday. He loves it and has found quite a bit of small items. He took it to the beach and he found a Casio men's watch. I'll likely get another one for my other grandson.
