I have a small collection of pistols and I have one of these for each of them. I really like them. They are made in the USA and they have worked as intended without any issues. These are fantastic range cases or at-home storage cases. I can easily fit a pistol and an extra magazine in each one. They are not intended to be used as a pistol safe or any other kind of security device. Yes it locks, but that is so the case doesn't accidentally open on the go and your pistol falls out. Anyone with intent can cut open the nylon case and get to the pistol. These cases come in three sizes. 13 inch, 11 inch, and 8 inch. I use the 13s for my full sized pistols and the 11s for my compacts. I originally tried the 8 inch cases for my compacts but they were too small. Here are the pistols I am using for size references. Works perfectly for locking my pistol to transport to and from the range in California. I just wanted to get away from the big Plano hard box and throw a soft case in a backpack... Issue being I needed a locking case. Queue this Allen locking case! I bought the 13 inch model and it fits a Glock 19 along with two magazines easily. I haven't tried a third but it would probably fit. It's definitely bigger than what I was expecting at 13 inches but I definitely got what I wanted - something to hold a mag and the firearm. It will easily hold two mags... maybe three! I've only tested two. The zipper is a KK branded zipper meaning it should last a long time as it's a well known name brand. The lock is similar to a handcuff style lock and every other case made has the same key. The pictures are exactly as it comes with my own added flair of second amendment of course. I would recommend this to anyone and I will be buying more. 13 inch is pretty large so think about that before purchasing. I would have gone a size smaller if I had the choice again but I do not regret my purchase at all. ... show more

I actually bought two of these (8-inch version) for transporting my subcompact in the cars. They fits very well and can be thrown into some tight space without looking suspicious. As some pointed out already the 11 inch is probably a better all around for compact handguns. For my use case, the 8-inch fits the XDS45 with 2 mags (single-stack .45) or Glock 26 with 2 mags (10 round flush fit mags). Due to state law I cannot transport them with mags inserted (they said it's regarded as loaded), so both examples I quoted are without mags in the gun. Can't complain when used as it's intended. ... show more

I bought the 8in based on someone else's review and it barely fits my Ruger American standard (4.2 in barrel). The label says that it will fit up to 3in barrel. Wish I had seen that because there's no room for a mag. IMO the 8in case is best suited for a compact weapon. The case is nicely padded and the lock works but I would only use that lock for transporting a weapon, if at all. In my home I use the cable lock as it is a more substantive deterrent. I think it was reasonably priced but I can't speak to durability because I just got it. Will update if threads loosen, fabric frays, or zipper issues arise. ... show more

This is a very nice pistol case. Good quality and well sized (13 inch model) to hold my GP100 Match Champion on trips to the range. I don't use the lock feature which is really not practical on this type of pistol case but I guess the manufacturer thinks it's a selling point. The case is well padded and the zipper is good quality. I bought two (2) of these cases. I use the second case for my backup gun when I'm shooting in major competitions or going to the range with multiple pistols to practice. I would recommend this product. ... show more

Just received the 8" size and fits my Glock 19 snugly. Even more snug with the mag in it, since I'd added a Pearce Grips Extension. Snug but it fits. Seems extremely well made from quality, tough materials. Solid stitching, YKK zipper with an integrated lock! Clever, Allen Co. (See pic) And, yes, this meets the letter and intent of CA law -- the tiny lock is solid, so will definitely keeps little fingers (and bigger ones) off the weapon. Looks like it will last a long time, and I'll update this review if that changes. ... show more

Inside material isn't the same 200-300D nylon as the outside, kind of like a mesh/felt material. I can't tell if it's stronger than the outside material, but definitely softer. Feels like an oil absorbent material, potentially prone to rip ripping or pilling. The construction is nice, but the design can use a bit more work. At the start of the zipper, the edging is sealed off with a circular patch, and the patch exposes the green foam on the back. I've owned Tommy's Packs or Kickin'A Packs with similar zipper lock designs (much better imo), but since they're out of business, these will work. Another complaint would be that the angled point where your pistol grip would go is kind of snug with a magazine. The perpendicular height of the rounded angle to the flat base is about 6 inches for the 11" bag. If your grip base to slide is taller than 6", might need to get the longer bag. ... show more

Although many reviews have said the Glock 19 will fit in the 8" case, I intentionally bought the 11" because I have a Vortex Venmon red dot sight on mine. With a little effort (stretching) it will close, and lock properly, but it is extremely tight. I'm just a little concerned long term how it will hold up. I just wish they had made it a bit wider. Otherwise, it is an excellent case and meets my needs to comply with the laws of the Great State of California. ... show more
