I can carry my 1911 and my Ruger Security 380 with out any problems. It holds 6 magazines with room for a couple of extra boxes of ammo right above them. As for the external pocket, I carry 2 fast loaders, safety glasses, reading glasses and some small miscellaneous tools. It does not have sufficient room inside for ear protection but that is not a problem as they clip to the outside. Great bag and highly recommended. Some reported zippers didn’t work but I’ve had no problem with them. If you need extra storage for other caliper ammo add a magazine case to the side. I did and it works fine. At the price point I was not expecting the quality of this range bag. It is exactly what I was looking for. It's durable, the zippers are easily lockable, and it's compact yet can carry my two pistols. I don't think I could get my ear protection in the bag without some effort and contortions, but that is not a big deal to me.
