I bought 4 cases this week and I liked this one 2nd best. Some rifle cases claim they can hold a scoped rifle and just aren’t big enough. This case is barely wide enough to facilitate my rifle which is a savage 110 with a standard sized 3x9 40 scope. Good small rifle case. It fit my small shotgun 18.5" barrel shotgun with stock with room to spare. Locks up nicely and doesn't take up too much space. The only issue was that the foam on the inside was not glued to the case so when I opened it up the first time, the foam just plopped down from the top. It' not a huge deal, but I did expect it to be glued. I just put it back in there and it kinda stayed. If it becomes a problem I will just put a little bit of glue on it, not a huge deal considering the price of this. ... show more

Understand that you get what you paid for. This is the most basic TRANSPORTATION case for those that prefer a 'hard' shell over a bag. It's very cheap plastic that you could easily break without care. Not a security device. It will not stop anyone from breaking into it within a minute or two. You're going to LAY this down in your car. Not toss it in there. It's a hard feeling case to get your firearm from point A to point B within the legal requirements. At 48", this will house darn near anything you shoot except a Civil War musket. (Shown is a Remington Model 12C .22 rifle with a 24" barrel.) And for $20 delivered (Prime), it's tough to beat. BUT anything you put in there will slide around like butter on a hot pan. That is by design. To keep costs low, the foam is thin - too thin to secure a gun. It's just for protection. The foam has several slots cut into it at regular intervals. (Readily visible in photo #4.) Beneath the foam are corresponding anchors. (Photo #2) They're designed to receive some kind of 3/4" strap. I used self stick velcro, shown in photo #2 (https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-1833-OW-PB-Orange-Velcro-Onewrap/dp/B00I0TVCVY) Slide it through the foam cuts and tie down your gun. There are 8 anchor locations, all on one half of the case. Mine is well-tethered. Your actual mileage may vary. Just know that you're going to have one more job to do (and cost to incur) before you can use this case. ... show more

The case itself is very sturdy. The foam inside is quality. The case is lockable if one wants to apply a padlock. Fits my shotgun length perfectly. I could even fit a slightly longer shotgun. The downsides: the foam could be thicker in order to apply more compression and keep the gun stable. Or, the case could have straps or tabs to hold the gun in place inside the case. Unfortunately, the gun does move around within the case which is a bit annoying. I like the case in general, so I’m trying to figure out how to remedy this issue. ... show more
