Picked this up on a whim and it’s way better in person than I expected. The matte finish on the dome and the gold visor strip catch the light just right — it actually looks like a scaled-down version of the real prop, not a cheap plastic toy. Sits on my desk now and gets a comment from basically everyone who walks by. The packaging is a nice touch too — black box with a star-field print and the Mandalorian & Grogu branding. Feels like a collectible the moment you pick it up, not a generic accessory. Would not feel weird gifting this in the box it ships in. Assembly took maybe 30 seconds. Pop the top cap off, drop the Echo Dot in, line up the charging port with the cutout in the back, snap the cap back on, plug it in. The cable routes cleanly through the back opening so nothing looks messy. Sound from the Dot isn’t muffled at all — the top has a vent the speaker fires through, so volume and clarity are basically unchanged from the bare device. Only minor nit is that the cap alignment mark is subtle, so look closely before pressing down or you’ll have to pop it back off and rotate. Otherwise zero complaints. If you have a Dot sitting around and any affection for the Mando, this is an easy buy. My kid now insists Alexa is “Mando talking.”
