Gosh. That’s a heck of a lot of ceramic! They are good at doing their job. I’ve rinsed and cleaned mine several times snd haven’t needed to replace any. I know they work because the evidence is in the bag when I clean it.

It’s not bad. They are much smaller than the picture lets on but I prefer that as it is easier to adjust in the tray. It’s cheap material but it’s put together well enough. For the price it’s fine. I’ve had aquariums for years and the quality of the media does little to change the nitrogen cycle because most of the bacteria colonizes in the sponges anyway. It is plenty good enough to do the job. And it’s a fair price also. ... show more

I bought the ten pound option and was super happy that I did. I have about half of what I ordered left after topping off a few of my filter's canisters and overflow boxes. Also. set up a penguin 350. I'd saved so much on the media that I ordered a box of the penguin Filter cartridges.
