  • Why I Chose this Model Over Others
Size: AIR27 Color: Grey
I considered a lot of different coops/hutches on Amazon and chose this one. Why? 1. The best box had support underneath vs just hanging off with nothing under it. It makes it less likely it will fall off and gives my pet extra room to hop around underneath it. 2. The two story with an easy way to close the door means I can easily lock my bunny in at night for extra protection. On other models I noticed you had to open the cage in order to close the second level door. 3. The roof was like you’d see on a real house, not just wood or plastic. 4. The designer thought about potential places it might leak so included a vinyl piece you put over the hinged nesting box door. 5. The wheel are large and I love the “tractor” aspect of this design so I can periodically move it around my yard so my bunny has clean new grass to munch on. 6. Now that I’ve put it together I can say it was pretty easy because the directions were illustrated and clear plus all the parts were stamped with the part number. ... show more

  • Good not Great
Size: 80.7"L x 22.0"W x 44.1"H Color: Grey
I am using this as a second stage brooder. My baby hens are too young for the main coop but too big for the brooder. This is perfect for stepping up to a bigger space but still keeping them safe. I only wish the locks were a little more secure. There are a total of five locks or latches, in three different styles. You may want to just invest in a few higher quality locking mechanisms. Other than that, this is perfect for what I’m needing. I wouldn’t try to use this for fully grown hens. There just wouldn’t be enough space for more than two to three at most. More than that and it will be too little space and they will not be happy girls. If you have bantams, then this might be a good coop for a small flock. I like that it has multiple gates and doors. This makes it easy to clean and feed them. It is somewhat sturdy but it isn’t going to compare at all to actual lumber. The materials used in construction are average at best. But, again, for what I needed it is perfect. Temper your expectations and you won’t be disappointed. ... show more

  • Inexpensive materials but it works
Size: 80.7"L x 22.0"W x 44.1"H Color: Grey
The Coop looks cute. It does fit 3 to 4 hens. I purchased two coops and put them end to end, and they were easy to construct and the instructions were good. It is suitable for now, however, I have had to add additional pieces to the coop to make it more secure. The roosting bars are slightly above the nest box, but not enough to discouraged the hens from camping out in the nesting box. Which is undesirable, but there is a small slot or space where you can slide in some kind of divider to block the nesting boxes during the night. The roost themselves are NOT satisfactory for chickens. They are rounded perches similar to a parrot perch and sit way too close to the poop shelf. The perches themselves sit in a small slot and are easily tipped over by the chickens which leaves them lying on top of the poop shelf. I ended up screwing scrap 2x4s to the little perches to give them higher and wider roosting bars, then had to secure the roosting bars with another small scrap of wood to keep them stable. There was enough space under the coop roof to do that. I can still remove the roosting bars when needed for cleaning. One of the top windows lifts up on the run so you can close and open the coop door but I turned those pieces around so that the windows both open from the center as I needed the space to easily access the feed and water dispensers. There is not really enough room to put them anywhere else that I could figure out. It’s a little awkward to close the coop door as there’s nothing to grip on the inside of the sliding coop door even if you go in through the roosting area, but at this point I’m leaving the sliding coop door open in the evenings we’ve had no problems with predators so far. When it comes winter, I’ll probably have to a fix some sort of little handle to the inside of the sliding coop door to be able to reach it from inside the coop to close it off easily for warmth. I do not see that there is enough room in the coop to install an automatic door, but maybe someone else can figure that out. I also created a floor for the coop by stapling hardware cloth over the entire base of the coop to stop predators being able to dig under and go inside as there is no floor to the coop. The hardware cloth also makes the whole structure more secure, and more stable as I have two of them end to end. I placed sand for litter on the bottom of the run so the chickens are not standing on the wire flooring. The latches on the nesting boxes that you open and close to access the egg boxes are very cheaply made, and broke almost immediately away from the roof where they’re attached so I had to come up with another solution to keep the egg boxes secure. I am new to chickens and only have six laying hens but I needed to construct a daytime outdoor area for a bigger more comfortable run as there is not much room for them to move around. All in all, this item will do for now however, it doesn’t compare to a specially constructed walk in chicken run. It’s a work in progress and for a non-walk in first time coop, it’s decent. I am also constructing a roof panel to protect them from rain and hot sun and keep the floor of the coop dry. One day I’ll have a walk in coop and a few more chickens, but for starters this works and was worth the money for someone without woodworking skills or a handyman. ... show more

  • Chicken coop
Size: 80.7"L x 22.0"W x 44.1"H Color: Grey
This chicken coop was very easy to put together and had all hardware included except one door latch. I wanted this coop because the last section lifted up for ease of feeding and cleaning. I thought that was a smart feature because it’s not tall enough for me to walk in. I also liked that it already had hardware cloth installed on every piece I put together. I also liked the fact that you could put 2 together to make a long coop. It has wheels, so when I finished putting it together I carefully wheeled it (I’m on rocky ground) to the place it was going to sit. It’s a little wonky, but it’s where I put it last year. I don’t move it around. Other places charge very high prices for chicken coops, but this was good value for the amount spent (little over $100). I only needed it for 2 hens, but it could accommodate 2 more if needed. I’m still using this coop a year later. My chickens are safe in this coop. I liked it so much, I ordered another one. ... show more

  • Deceiving size. Manageable.
Size: 67.3"L x 26.0"W x 39.4"H Color: Brown
Easy assembly, but I tire of product images that are fake and deceitful. Stock image shows the hight nearly as tall as the man. While I knew it wasnt that tall, the assembled product is basically a dog (puppy) kennel - 2 chickens max, comfortably.

  • Very nice.
Size: 80.7"L x 22.0"W x 44.1"H Color: Grey
I have not put the chickens in this yet but I think it will be a good home for them. Will reinforce it as we do have raccoons around here. Good for the money. Update: used one season for 6 chicken's. The removable tray has rusted through., that is a problem. However, the Chickens like it and roost in it every night. They use the nesting boxes every day. We added an outdoor space so it has worked. Don’t expect it to last another season though. Sliding doors warped but I’m able to leave them open all the time. Found out early that it is very hard to move so we use it stationary. ... show more

  • Not worth the money
Size: 80.7"L x 22.0"W x 44.1"H Color: Grey
Seemed pretty sturdy when we originally put it together. Looked great. Then it started falling apart after a couple of weeks. First the ladder broke off, then the hinges on the brooter box broke. Do not recommend buying if you are looking for something sturdy or something that will last for a while.

  • So far it’s the best we have had.
Size: AIR29 Color: Black
We bought a small chicken brooder for our hen house about a month ago and it wasn’t worth anything and already has fallen apart. We ended up buying this since our chicks are almost a month old and this is perfect. We can even put our heating lamp in it to where they have heat inside it. They love the extra room. It’s even perfect for when one of our hens or roosters get hurt and need a space away from the others to heal. It has several spots where you can open it and get the chicks out. The locks are a little worrisome though. We may have to put different ones on later but so far are working great. ... show more
