The same problem, New Year gift - and drained battery. Who will pay compensation for ruined NY mood? I still do not know, how it works, but looks and feels like very cheep piece of plastic. You will find this information on their site AFTER you find the devise is not working. "It has come to our attention that a small number of AirJamz placed in inventory earlier this year did not properly enter sleep mode, causing the batteries to drain before they reached you. If you were affected by this, we would like to replace your battery for you. Please fill out the information below so we can send your replacement battery(s) or credit you to purchase your own." Arrived with a dead battery, as others have reported. Put in a CR2032, immediately wanted to download a firmware update to work on battery drain problem. Installed the Android app OK, basically works like it should, although not sure how long it's going to hold the attention of a young kid. Performance isn't quite as good as expected, it's a novelty that will likely end up in a drawer soon. ... show more

We purchased this product as a family Christmas gift. I was looking forward to seeing everyone rock out. I downloaded the app on iOS and again on Android because at first I thought I was doing something wrong. It eventually occurred to me that we received an Air Jamz with a dead battery. So, here it is January 5th and we still haven't had the chance to try this out 😞. ********UPDATE******** Zivix company reached out to me immediately after I posted the above. They apologized for the unfortunate dead battery issues and they rectified this immediately with us! With no time at all we received battery replacements and we're rocking out!! My 16 year old son loves this app and I feel this is considered an early release product, as further feedback will assist the company and the software applications in their growth in their products, software applications, and company as a whole. I ordered this during an Amazon promotion, and gave it as a gift for Christmas. The batteries in it were completely dead. I installed the app on Christmas day anyway, and my kids had a little fun playing it without the pick. The next day I searched several stores for the special battery, and when I finally got one the pick still wouldn't work. These seem to have quality control issues. I returned mine. ... show more

Bought this for my son but it would not power on so I returned it. Received the replacement and the light that indicates it is on was very dim and flickered, but did not have enough power to even connect to the app. Bought a replacement battery and it worked great. Would have given this product a 5 star if the battery was not dead twice on receipt or if they could have at least indicated that battery would need to but battery separately so that i would have been prepared to give this to my son on his birthday instead of 3 days late. ... show more

I don't usually write reviews but feel it is necessary in this case. I bought 2 of these in Oct. for Christmas gifts for my kids. The reviews,at the time, were high and it sounded like it would be a fun time for my kids. Unfortunately, This product has taught me a lesson...immediately try the product upon arrival. On Christmas morning the kids got these in their stocking, neither worked. I had to wait for a store to open so I could replace the batteries which were completely dead (a firmware path was pushed for the one that ended up working to minimize battery drain). One finally started working with the new battery but the other never did. Then there is the app...I was seriously disappointed. How can there be so positive reviews...I read multiple reviews that adults thought it was great and wanted to keep them for themselves??? The app only plays a very short riff of a song, over and over again. My 8 year old got tired of it in less than 2 minutes. I tied it too and understand why, it is not challenging, very repetitive, huge delay in stroke to actual sound made...just disappointing:(. Now I went to see if I can return them and it is outside the 30-day window...guess trying to get your Christmas shopping done early on Amazon is a very bad idea! ... show more
