The maximum flight time of the aircraft is measured at a constant flying speed of 21.6 kph in a windless environment at sea level, with camera parameters set to 1080p/30fps, video mode off, and from 100% battery level until 0%. Data is for reference only. Always pay attention to reminders on the goggles screen during your flight. 9. DO NOT connect the charger, connect external devices, or insert/remove any batteries during power accumulation. 10. The 13km transmission distance can only be achieved under the FCC standard when measured without interference in an open outdoor environment. The above data shows the farthest communication range for one- way, non-return flights under each standard. During your flight, pay attention to RTH reminders on the goggles screen. 11. Measured using 1080p/100fps video transmission, tested outdoors in an open interference-free environment. 12. DJI Avata 2 is factory set to automatically perform Return to Home (RTH) if the drone signal is disconnected, and users can change the setting to hover or land before takeoff according to the actual flight scenario. 13. If the 5.8GHz frequency band is not available (such as in Japan), screen sharing to the smartphone via Wi-Fi is not available. To achieve this function, a wired connection is recommended. Before flying, check and confirm local radio and aviation laws and regulations. 14. Tested in an open outdoor environment free of interference. The video transmission distance varies with the operating environment. 15. The power loop feature has a fixed radius and speed, which cannot be altered. The loop radius is set at 5 meters, and the minimum effective height is 1.5 meters.

The DJI Avata 2 is hands down one of the most fun pieces of tech I've ever bought. It took me a few minutes to get used to the controls, but once everything clicked, it became incredibly intuitive. I have a DJI Mini Pro 4 and bought this drone to fill a gap. The Avata 2 with the headset is a kick in the pants to fly! You have a Birdseye view of flying and can better navigate trails, close to earth flying. The video is outstanding and the motion controller 2 is as close to being intuitive as you get. It is built with propeller guards and is more durable than models with exposed propellers. It is better suited for beginner because of this and the more intuitive controller. The battery life is 23 minutes, but if you are flying aggressively, I'd fly less than that because low battery levels makes control response sluggish. You can buy cheaper, but the quality and reliability of DJI can't be beat. ... show more

This is a great drone. I know people say it’s not a real FPV drone, and I fly a lot of FPV drones but I gotta say this might be the most reliable drone I have had. I have crashed it one too many times my dog has chewed it up and it still works really good 10 out of 10.

For what this drone is, and for being out a few years now, this is the best combination of fpv and cinematography. Sadly no modes for tracking objects however everything from the quality of material and experience when piloting is excellent. If you want something strictly for fpv I wouldn’t recommend nor if you want something for just the photography/cinematography. But for best of both I’d say this is perfect. I got the DJI Avata 2 because I wanted something more immersive than a regular camera drone, but not as intimidating as building a full FPV setup from scratch. The goggles make the flying experience feel completely different, and it is honestly a lot more fun than just watching a phone screen. The built-in prop guards are a big plus because they make the drone feel less fragile, especially when flying around tighter areas. The 4K video looks clean, and the wide FPV view gives footage a really cool sense of motion. The Motion Controller is easy to get used to, but it still takes some practice if you are new to FPV. I would start slow and give yourself space before trying anything too aggressive. Overall, this is a really fun drone if you want that FPV feeling without jumping straight into a complicated custom build. ... show more

Excellent little drone, fun to fly, very quick, durable and a perfect entry level drone. I got the DJI care refresh plan I’m new to these FPV drones so I thought better safe than safe than sorry I did manage to crash this thing multiple times in the two days I had it and it took them like a champ at least the first few. After about 10 crashes I noticed it wasn’t flying right and upon inspection the left front motor was starting to bind up and was almost like a bearing or something was ceasing up so I decided to fly it anyway I mean I had the care refresh package so why not. After about 6 minutes into this flight I decided I was good enough to try sport mode that was a mistake I sent it right into the big oak tree in my front yard it smacked a large limb bounced off the trunk then slammed into the concrete below that was the end of the drone the motors would bind because the frame got bent. However amidst all that no props were broken so under normal flight conditions this thing is built tough and can handle whatever you throw at it. Overall the value is exceptional for as well built as it is and what you get I think it’s fairly good and reasonable. The bad Battery life, it ain’t the greatest I averaged about 10 minutes of flight time ripping it with sport mode before I crashed and ended its life now on normal mode it did perform well average time was about 18 minutes and you could still rip around just not as quickly in sport mode. After a couple hard hits the gimbal would come out of its mount and it was a pain to get back secured again that should definitely be addressed. Also with care refresh I thought you could keep your wrecked drone but apparently you have to send the drone only back and if it’s worthy of replacement they will if not they just repair it so if you get the refresh plan keep that in mind plus it’s $50 to send it back to them and turn around time is roughly about a week or 2 depending on material availability. I only included this because it’s an FPV drone you’re gonna wreck it regardless if you’re experienced or not because some of the controls aren’t as nimble as you’d think or not as responsive as I thought it would be one misconception is the gimbal itself it gives the illusion that the drone is flying straight up or down when pointing up and down but in reality it’s just the gimbal so the likelihood of wrecking is fairly high. ... show more

    • Easiest Drone I have ever flown

I have a little experience flying drones, but this was my first FPV. I was a little nervous to try it out, but it turns out it was sooo user friendly! I attached a clip from my first time flying the Avata 2. I really like VR stuff, but if you are someone that gets motion sick from VR headsets, then this might not be the drone for you. If you want to try it without the headset, you can cast the image to your phone and use that, however I found it difficult to fly that way. I purchased the bundle that has the drone controller and goggles becasue the 3 battery version was sold at at the time. I had to purchase the batteries separately, and just a heads up, they are expensive. I would recommend the DJI care insurance. I purchased that on the DJI website when i was activeating the drone. it is suppose to cover damages if you crash it, which is entirely possible. Overall, I think this drone is awesome! I was able to fly it with confidence in just a few minutes. Even when flying in close quarters. I cant wait to take it on my next trip so I can get some really amazing shots. ... show more
