We got it to get the rain water off the solid pool cover. It works well. With a big puddle it takes an hour or more to pump it out, but it does the job. It works with the hose that it comes with but sometimes the top will kink over. We tried it with a piece of garden hose but it didn’t have enough suction. The pump does a great a job and is quite powerful. The included additional hose adapters allow you to use other size hoses which maximize the full potential of the pump. The pump included hose limits the amount of water it pumps. It collapses on itself as well, it’s a joke.

I use it to take some water out of my in ground pool. Obviously, it's a small pump so it takes a few hours but I put it in the skimmer and left it. I did reinforce the connection between the unit and the hose with waterproof tape. It was a easy remedy and it works great! Worth the money
