I'm converting a spare bedroom to an office and there's no overhead light so I thought this would be a good option. I checked out several iterations of this floor lamp and picked this Adesso for two reasons: 1) it was among the tallest, at 72", and 2) the lamp seemed to be real chrome. Well, it's not 72". I'm 60" tall and you can see that the arms start significantly lower than my shoulder. I measured: the arms start at 49", and the longest arm is 16" to the longest point of the shade, which is tapered. That's a total height, from floor to tip, of 65", same as most others on Amazon and elsewhere. The parts are real chrome, which looks very classy. Parts screwed together easily, and I did not need the directions. Lamp is not crooked or wobbly. The base has some nice weight to it, which was a pleasant surprise. Yes, the shades are plastic but they're not too flimsy. It's honestly a very nice lamp for the price, and 60 watts x 5 definitely fills the room. Loses one star for false advertising. ... show more
