  • Excellent, Fast, and Spacious
Capacity: 2TB
I recently purchased an Acer Predator branded desktop and decided I needed some additional storage for all the gaming I've been doing. I liked the quality of the desktop so much that I decided to pick up this 2TB NVMe to compliment the internal 1TB. Packaging was excellent, it comes with the little screw I needed and it has an included low profile heatsink which is very helpful as the most easily accessible open M.2 slot for me was pretty close to the GPU which makes it nearly impossible to use a bigger heat sink. Anyhow, this has been running great. Super fast overall. It outperforms the drive it came with and transfering 70 gigs only took a couple of minutes. Price seems reasonable for what you get. Well worth considering. ... show more

  • It's faster than WD SN850x
Capacity: 4TB
Heatsink sticker that comes with this GM7000 is pretty thick. If your motherboard comes with a factory heatsink and you want to use it, def won't fit with it on. Threads on screws won't reach. That being said, speed test on my PC clocked it at 7100mbs read and 6980mbs write. It advertises 7400mbs. Maybe on high end motherboards or high end CPUs/Ram it'll do it. On my tests with WD SN850X its in the high 6000's almost 7000mbs. Not the best, but very reliable. I usually buy name brand m.2 drives with a lot of reviews. A 4tb GM7000 (this hard drive) came up on a lighting deal and I snatched it. No complaints at all on performance already played games on it for a while, no problem. Transferred huge files crazy stupid fast. Multiple 92gb+ files. Peeling off the thick heat sink is not fun. I was paranoid a chip might come off and ruin it. They should leave it stickerless and in package a thick and typical thin heatsink sticker with your choice to put on. Also can anyone tell me what app goes with this m.2??? ... show more

  • Almost didn't happen
Capacity: 2TB
I ordered 2 of these for a total of 4TB for my Legion 5i Pro. These replaced 2 Samsung 1TB drives. Installation fairly straightforward, but the heat sinks were thicker on the Acers. Boot up is much faster and games are much smoother. I ordered these for Black Friday 2023. Supply delays ensued and I almost cancelled. Price was about $91 USD ea. Price was worth the wait. ... show more

  • Fast, cheap, temps stay sane
Capacity: 2TB
I happened to see this pop up in a lightning deal yesterday for an amazing price. It showed up today, and within an hour I had it installed under the factory heatsink on my ASUS ROG STRIX B-650E motherboard (replacing a 1TB Gen 3 NVME), cloned, and acting as my boot/OS disk. This is a LOT of performance for $100. Speeds on benchmarks have all come in at or better than the advertised specs, which is to say, FAST. This idles around 40c, which is maybe 5c higher than the nvme it replaced. Then again, the Gen5 slot on my motherboard is sandwiched tightly between an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X (168 Watt TDP!) and a Radeon RX 6600 GPU - so not exactly the coolest shelf in the fridge. Although I didn't try running this without a heatsink, during heavy reads the temps tend to climb to 51-54c. During steady and repeated sequential write tests it gets a littler warm... I got it up to 61c once, but that is as high as it went. Operating range goes up to 70c, so we are still well under max. It came with Acronis, which was able to clone the old Gen3 NVME with 600+ GB of data in 15-20 minutes. I did however have to disable some windows security settings to get Acronis to run. I'll update this review if the disk craps out in a month, but barring any catastrophe, this is a REALLY solid buy. ... show more

  • The "Final" Frontier for gaming
Capacity: 4TB
I bought this on sale back in November for 185.00 (might have been black friday or cyber monday). Well worth the price then, probably worth it now, depends on the consumer. For me this was the upgrade that made it to where all the now seemingly HUGE AAA titles can fit on this drive leaving my other SSD's for other taskings. Also, GEN 4 NVME, rock solid for BR's and loading times. This was the last step for me to go full on solid state and lose the mechanical drives for backup media only. Drive seems to perform well. Temps about average for NVME's used for gaming. No hiccups thus far. I mean it is still a "major" brand, so they'd better know before getting into it. ... show more
