  • Acura TL Ball Joints
Worked for pressing upper and lower ball joints. Good tool and decent amount of adapters.

  • Heavy Duty Tool, That's Also Just Plain Heavy!!
Used this Ball Joint/ U-joint tool to remove some very rusted out, stubborn, u-joints off a 2016 ford F-150 2.7l ecoboost 4x4 with the one piece aluminum driveshaft! The tool worked great and felt sturdy, strong, and a little bit heavy as well. It takes a few minutes to line everything up, being extra careful not to damage the aluminum shaft ears, especially right around where the clips sit. Cause, if you don't line the tool up just right it starts to deform the aluminum very easily. Other than that it works flawlessly using just a 1/2 inch drive ratchet with a handle that extends from 12 1/2" to 18", and a bench vise to hold it in place. ... show more

  • Good tool for the price.
The only issue this tool has is the flaky paint on the c-clamp. It’s painted silver and the paint chips off very easy. They could make it better by just polishing the metal and not painting it at all.

  • Would not recommend for track bar ball joints!
Was able to do the job, but took almost eight hours for me to to change the track bar ball joint on my f250. The c-clamp is too short to fit without cutting the ball joint bolt. Sleeves just didn’t work good for what I was doing.

  • It did the job and survives to do another
Honda Civic ball joints are the worst. They are pressed in from inside the steering knuckle. There is hardly any room to get a receiver cup in between the flange of the ball joint and the knuckle. I swore a lot, but I was able fight through it to get both ball joints replaced. I had to put a lot of torque on this thing and make my peace with possibly breaking it. In the end, it was the ball joints that broke loose and that was what I was going for. I replaced the ball joints on the floor of my garage, without having to remove the knuckle or strut. This should save me from having to pay for an alignment. We’ll see. I wish the kit had more pieces, but not enough to pay more and get one with more pieces. I wish the c-frame was bigger, too. At the end of the day, I was able to make it work for half of what Harbor Freight charged for theirs and it came to my door. Pro-tip, grease the rod generously before use with white lithium grease. Wear either thick black nitrile gloves or the Mechanix gloves. Grow additional arms and hands, or borrow a friend’s. Holding the stack of adapters while positioning the c-frame and tightening it can be very frustrating. ... show more
