I bought this as a backup for my name brand coffee pod brewer. It does a pretty good job with regular coffee. However, it doesn't seem to have the power for the cappuccino or the hot cocoa pods. Best to let it get you hot water and just peel open the pod and dump for those. Also, and I think it says this but I didn't notice when I purchased it, it cannot do a big cup of coffee. I'm guessing maybe 10 oz tops, even if you put more in, it just shuts off after so much and you have to run it again. I think it's worth the price, it's simple to use and you get good hot coffee from it. 4 stars only because of the cappuccino and cocoa pod issues. ... show more

This item barely lasted 9 months of use. The water from the steam gets down into the electronic circuit board in the bottom & becomes a fire hazard. This is the 4th one that has failed since we put them into operation in the hotel. The moisture was even seen around the inside of the power button on the front of the machine. Price is very good. Shipping time was fair. Product design VERY BAD!!! We DO NOT recommend these. Save the money and go for the HiBrew brand. They are similar in price and no circuit boards... they are all pumped by the steam pressure. They also have an auto shut off. ... show more

Purchased this maker to replace a Mr Coffee SC100 that quit after a year and to have it looked at / repaired would cost more than I paid. I brewed 3 cups today, it heated very quickly and the taste was fine. However, the only way to make sure you have the right amount of water is to fill and dump your cup into the reservoir. The reservoir has markings but they are nearly impossible to make out. Also, there isn't much room to pour the water so some spills out, I guess using a funnel would help. The little rubber cup mat is too small and rather useless if you have a wide bottom cup. ... show more

My first single cup coffee maker lasted about a year before giving up the ghost, replaced it with another one that was not good from the git go so after a week I ordered this one, hoping that it was going to be better. Very easy to clean so far and was 100 dollars cheaper than the one I was considering before I saw this one.
