These are heavy duty and take a pounding by a sledge to go into rocky ground but easily hold in soft ground too. We use these to set up a variety of pitches for a camping tarp. The orange dulls or chips easily so I wrapped some reflective tape around just under the “hook” part so they can be seen with flashlights. Reflective guy lines help as well.

These 12-inch steel tent stakes are a significant upgrade from the standard stakes that come with most tents! The longer, thicker steel construction makes them much more durable and able to withstand tough ground conditions. During my testing, I found these stakes were able to penetrate hard, compacted soil and even rocky ground with ease. Their length provides excellent holding power, keeping my tent securely in place even in high winds which was the major reason I needed to upgrade to these. Compared to the lightweight aluminum stakes that came with my tent, these steel stakes feel reassuringly sturdy and solid. The only potential downside is that they are heavier than standard stakes, adding a bit more weight to your pack. However, the tradeoff in durability and stability is well worth it, especially if you camp in challenging, high wind environments. Overall, these 12-inch steel tent stakes are a fantastic investment. The extra length and robust steel construction make them perfect for use in rugged terrain or high wind conditions where standard stakes would struggle. I highly recommend these for any camper looking to upgrade their tent staking system.

These stakes are indeed heavy duty. I have been using them for a couple of years now and can say that these are not only very heavy, but they are worry free tent stakes. You do not have to worry if you tent will still be there because the stakes pulled out in a storm or in a heavy wind. These stakes will hold. I tend to camp more in paces where the ground is rock hard. Over the decades, I have bent and broken countless tent stakes from pounding aluminum and plastic stakes into the hard earth. With the purchase of these stakes, I am confident that I have purchased the last set of stakes that I will ever need. They are very heavy, so these are for car camping only. (You certainly don't want to have to haul these over long distances in a backpack.) Finally, the design is simple and functional. The hole near the head of the tent stake is the perfect size to slip another tent stake through. The stake through the hole of a stake in the ground creates a handle in order to pull them out of the earth. This makes easy work of removing them when breaking camp. I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend these tent stakes for staking down both tents and tarps.

I bought a Russian Bear Tent. I’m not a camping expert yet but I’m learning quickly enough to know that most of the camping vlogs don’t mention the constant and limitless problems you run into. Camping stakes are one of them. I’ve only used my RBM tent for 2 1/2 months. Considering it’s $3K price, Ive got mixed feelings about it. Considering the stakes they sent, they’re only 6” and they are of low quality and didn’t send the amount required. I chose to replace ALL of them with these stakes, plus the extra required amount, which I purchased separately from Amazon, which are 12” , have fastener eyes to keep the fabric anchoring loops of the tent from making deep contact into the terrain and disintegrating them. They are made out of steel and have sharp ends to dig into the terrain. I bought over 60 of these (a minimum of 56 are required, which RBM didn’t send) , as this is what proper mounting of the tent is required. At a price of $2 each, I’ve been very satisfied so far. None of them have bent and they’ve held up to a decent amount of pounding. So far, so good.

I've got a lousy neighbor that keeps letting his stupid dog slip away from him. It runs directly to my house and if my dog is out in the backyard, it bulldozers it's way underneath my chain link fence and attacks my dog. My neighbor will not do anything to remedy this. I used these to secure the chainlink to the ground and they do a great job. They prevent me from having to shoot that damn dog.

Very strong. Don't bend when you hit a rock, but be careful with the hook side, because it can bend. These were long enough to work in very loose dirt and sand and hold my 20' tarp in place during high winds gusts.
