The mounting bracket barely matched up to our box, but we were able to get it to fit. Again, no fault of the fan manufacturer. It was an easy fix. If the fan was going to be put directly on a beam the hardware would have been perfect. There are few fan box sizes that this fan can fit on, however, it may need different screws on various boxes. If someone knows how to install a ceiling fan it really isn't a big deal to get longer screw to secure the fan if need be. Over all this is a very easy fan to install. The control box fit perfectly and was so easy to install. We chose to use the hand remote for our installation. The fan itself is very quiet! We can not hear the motor at all.....especially nice not to hear a humming motor when its on the highest setting. The air velocity is great and over 6K and is perfect for very hot weather. Excellent output on the high setting! The lighting has six settings and they all be dimmed if preferred. The LED lighting is very bright. It can be dimmed if desired. There is a warm light setting if preferred over the bright LED setting. The lighting box does not protrude under and gives the fan a modern style look. The fan is modern looking. It doesn't look bulky or out of place on the back porch. I was reluctant to buy a black fan, however the contrast is exceptional against the white ceiling. It was hard to find a waterproof fan in our price point that wasn't ugly looking. I am very happy with the aesthetics of the fan as it looks very modern and has lower profile. Love that this fan is IP66 waterproof as the fan is located where heavy rain going sideways is typical. I had to replace an indoor/outdoor only fan in a different brand that only lasted a few years due to rust in the motor. This Audoday fan is fabulous as a waterproof fan. ... show more

Really nice good looking fan but note-even on lowest speed (1), fan turns pretty fast. If you sometimes like to use a slow moving fan that moves just a little air, this is not the one. Even on speed 1 it is pretty fast and pushing a lot of air. I have yet to use any of the 6 speeds but 1. Really would have liked a couple speeds lower than the 1. (1 ought to be like 3). But it's a nice fan otherwise. I bought two other smaller fans at a local store and same thing- slowest speed is way faster than I would like. Perhaps a new trend? ... show more

I took a gamble with this fan. But at 1/3rd the price of a better-known brand, I felt confident in my choice. Preparing the fan for installation was remarkably easy. Pro tip: Watch the short installation video. I didn't even have to open the included manual to install it. The fan and light are two plug-in connectors to a central box that fits easily into the top of the fan housing. I've installed many, MANY ceiling fans before, and this has the largest area for the control box I've ever seen. As far as the noise level, the fan is very quiet. You will only hear the whoosh of the air being moved by the fan blades. No buzz, no hum, just whoosh. I found the sweet spot between whoosh and WHOOSH was at speed 3. It goes up to 6 but given how close the fan is to the ceiling, anything more than 4 doesn't really change the amount of air being moved. There are two remotes: One for wall mount and one for... wherever mount or just sat on the desk. I had a little weirdness with the remotes at first, but it ended up being a loose connection between the control box and the fan. After that, it worked consistently, which is more than I can say about the fan it replaced by a well-known company starting with "H". Overall, this is a good fan (not great, but good) that suits my needs for a price that can't be beat for a DC motor fan. ... show more

Ceiling Fan, Helicopter, or Home Demolition Simulator? I purchased this fan on March 31st, and what arrived was apparently less of a ceiling fan and more of a low-budget aviation experiment. When it’s running, it sounds like a helicopter is trying to take off inside my washing machine while shaking the entire ceiling. The wobble is so aggressive that guests actually look up to make sure it’s not about to detach and begin circling the living room. At this point, I’m not cooling the room—I’m conducting structural stress tests on my house. Only purchase this fan if you’ve ever wanted the exciting experience of wondering whether your ceiling fan is about to achieve lift-off and take your living room with it. What makes this even worse is Amazon’s handling of the issue. After spending this much time dealing with a defective product, their solution was essentially, “Not our problem.” Because I’m outside the 30-day return window, they refuse to offer any meaningful assistance. The only option they provided was a refund—but only after I remove the fan from my ceiling, transport it to a return center myself, and leave my family without a working light or fan in our living room until everything is processed. So let me get this straight: I have to take down a defective ceiling fan that sounds like it’s preparing for takeoff, haul it to a return center, and sit in the dark just to get my money back? The fan is terrible, but Amazon’s customer service somehow managed to be even more disappointing. I expected a company of this size to stand behind products sold on its platform. Instead, I was left with a noisy, shaking safety hazard and a customer service experience that was every bit as frustrating as the fan itself. One star.
