This thing is compact, yet feels heavy duty based on the way its constructed. It comes with its own carrying handles and I recommend using it to move around. I have mine mounted on top of my front load washer so I know its well balanced and I can run the drain hose out to the washer's drain tube as well. Once plugged in, it made two beeps, and after turning it on, it turned on and wow it is definitely a beefy unit. Because you can set it at a desired humidity, the compressor runs to take moisture from the air until its about 3% within range. So its about a 6% hysteresis, which probably makes its it worthy of the energy star rating. The air filter itself can be removed without any tools as it is held on by magnets. It is cold now, but I imagine the filter needing cleaning after a summer/fall season. I can tell it makes the difference with my clothes hanging in the basement. I highly recommend to keep mold and musty smells at bay. ... show more

I installed it in a crawlspace with a dirt floor. It is a well built high quality dehumidifier, a good value for the cost. It knocked down the humidity and eliminated the musty odor. Because I was able to mount it on a high shelf it drained by gravity to a small hole in the foundation. This made for an easy installation without the use of an external pump. I had some questions and contacted the distributor by email. The follow up response was quick and very helpful. The customer service team was exceptional. If you are considering this unit I recommend contacting the customer service team by email and describing your situation before ordering. They will help you select the right size unit and how to install it for optimum results. If you have a large space, or very damp area consider getting one size larger than you think you need. The cost of going larger is not that much and a larger unit will not have to work as hard to maintain a dry space during exceptionally wet times. ... show more

This is a revised review as of 12/29/25. In an earlier review, I noted that we had purchased this unit to dehumidify our attached garage. It worked great in the summer. However, in the winter, our garage is generally 40 to 50 degrees and we noticed the unit became much less effective. The humidity level stayed at 75% even though we'd set it to 55%. We contacted Moiswell's customer service and they informed us that the ideal temperature is ~65 degrees. (According to the manual, however, the unit can operate between 41 and 95 degrees.) What we learned from customer service is that unit is not meant to be used continuously in 40 degrees. The unit will protect the coils etc during cold weather via the heat mode, but doesn't actually dehumidify effectively in that temperature. We will keep using the unit in the summer months - it's really well built and will last, I'm sure. But not in the winter. (For that matter, it seems dehumidifying in 40 degree temperature is a long shot for most, if not all, dehumidifiers.) Instead, we are looking into insulating our garage and installing a heater to warm the air. I changed my review from one star to four stars on 12/29 because Moiswell's customer service was prompt and responsive, even during the holiday and weekend. ... show more

Why we bought your dehumidifier. The entire neighborhood had a power failure. There was water damage to everything, walls, carpet, bedding etc, all had to be discarded. Before we could repair anything, the basement had to dry out. So, we bought your dehumidifier. It ran 24/7 and took took the moisture out. Amazing! The panel would indicate how much moisture was in the air so we could schedule our repairs. Again Amazing! It still took about two and half months of repairs and $50,000 to get back to normal. If it hadn't been for your great product, it would have taken a lot longer. I continue to use the dehumidifier today. Thanks for such a great product. Get Outlook for Android ... show more

One of the best products that I have ever purchased. Product came with good instructions. The company responded to some questions I had and provided followup after I had a maintenance question.....I had to register it to get the question answered.....luckily I registered it one week before the "registration period" expired. Chat bot and then real human interaction(s). Good follow up The box that contained it, from Amazon, was too large to keep it from rolling around....they put it on the porch upside down. ... show more

A 5 star review may seem to be a bit odd since the unit failed prematurely at about 1 year. However, my disappointment was COMPLETELY erased by the handling of my warranty claim by Moiswell and in particular, "Iris". Upon contacting them via email I promptly received a reply. After taking me through a few very reasonable troubleshooting exercises, what was evident to me (lost freon) was acknowledged by them. They promptly shipped a new replacement and it was received within 1 day. The customer support was the best that I have encountered in years; honorable, honest and thoughtful . Unlike years ago when dehumidifiers could last 20 years; those made outside of the US now last 2-3 years maximum; it's a sad given. But what isn't a given is the great customer service provided by Moiswell (versus less than poor handling of prior failures by Frigidare and Waykar). It will not be forgotten when purchasing again. ... show more

The unit works, but it does not reduce humidity very well at all. I have contacted the company, completed the steps for their testing, and they says the unit is functioning normally. After a 4 hours test, the humidity was the same as it was when it started! How is that functioning properly? They want to call it normal. We spent a lot of money on a commercial grade unit thinking it would perform better than the portable one. This is a lot worse. We are returning it. ... show more
