I am more of a fairy collector but saw this and loved the bright rainbow colors. I initially thought I would get the neon mermaid but was sent the pastel doll... Still so pretty... I probably won't take it out of the box to play in the water... But here's the thing that I didn't know... I saw the neon at Wal-mart and after checking out my purchases, exited the store and put the bags in the trunk and went home. It was VERY hot by 11:00 here so when I got home and took her out of the trunk and she was now a pastel mermaid Barbie?! Had no clue! Stuck her in the refrigerator and 5 to 10 minutes later she was neon Barbie again! No water needed to change her colors. Now I have neon and pastel mermaid Barbie which is what I wanted separately. So for collectors I thought that bit of info might help. Now I didn't do it the other way around with the pastel doll to see if she will turn neon but y'all can...😁 ... show more

My granddaughter is autistic so she can't tell us what she wants but she likes rainbow colors so when I found this I sent to her for her birthday and she absolutely loves it it changes colors in the water too so it's a great buy.

I thought the color change thing was a take or leave it feature, daughter really just wanted it because her tail was a rainbow pattern, but the color changing is actually huge with the kid now, she's always getting a bath toy filled with cold tap to keep on hand so she can dip the doll in and out of hot shower spray and cold water to watch the colors change. The doll itself is also super pretty - her hair is really lovely and doesn't seem as skimpy in quantity as a few other barbies we've gotten. That the necklace is fixed to the bodice by a peg and hole sort of design is a really nice touch - it keeps it in place and it hasn't come off the way a few of the dreamtopia doll's necklaces have popped off during play. The necklace, tiara and bracelet have a shimmery pearly paint on them that's actually a nice touch. all in all, probably the best barbie we've ever picked up. ... show more
