I recently returned this pump for a replacement as it did not work, no power whatsoever, as though the motor was dead. I received the new pump thinking that it must have been some kind of unforeseeable issue with the first one. However, the new pump seems to have the same issue, no power and as silenced as the lambs, as dead as a skeleton dug up from a grave, not pumping anything let alone water. However, it does sucks, and reminiscence of the first one. I am completely annoyed (understatement) at this point and will be returning this one as well. ... show more

Pump did what we needed it to do. Good price, IMO. But I question the 7000GPH. We used the 6699 100 foot 1 1/2 Discharge hose, the hose went from the pump up 9 foot to pool coping and out to the back of our 10 acre property watering our trees (Zero chemicals in pool, no harm to trees) No major bends in the hose, only bend at pool coping (about a 45 degree angle), pump would not stay straight up, it laid on it's side or more at an angle (hose gets heavy when pumping water through it) so hose dictated the pump's position. It took 12 hours to drain our 22,000 gallon pool, well leaving about 2-3 inches deep in the deep end. Was hoping for less time but can't complain, it did it's job. May need to get us a second pump to cut the time in half next time. Also, may reduce the pumps time if a 2 inch hose was used, but still question 7000GPH, or I am not understanding their Footage Chart they provide (No mention of Hose Size, guessing 2 inch). 1085 GPH @ 20 FT of vertical hose 3112 GPH @ 15 FT of vertical hose 5523 GPH @ 10 FT of vertical hose 6977 GPH @ 3 FT of vertical hose We do recommend this pump...the shut Off/On float is a nice feature which prevents pump running dry... ... show more
