Well I have to dismiss part of the advertising that goes along with this pump which just doesn't make sense and has no logical way of testing it as to the low side working temperature range down to 23 degree Fahrenheit when water freezes at 32 degrees. I just don't know how you can pump an ice cube dry? Anyway, besides that, this is a good .75 hp 3000 gph pump that has a manual setting (lock the float) to keep the pump running as long as there is water to pump so not to dry run it, or auto run it by the on/off float being free to move. It is designed to grab water lower than most other pumps which is a good feature and comes with a 1.5 in lay flat 25ft discharge hose. It has a nice durable plastic shell which makes the pump lighter than the metal case pumps. I like the built in handle on the top that is all part of the pumps shell casing. And the pump just looks good to with the yellow black color scheme.

At first I thought this was just a tad expensive for a 1/4 HP pump. But this is actually a great deal given all the amenities. It's light weight and easy to carry around. It has a convenient handle. It's all plastic but feels sturdy. And it comes with several amenities: -PVC adapter for 1.5 or for 3/4" garden hose (GHT). If you need to reduce to 1.25" or 1" you'll need to provide your own adapters. -25 foot lay flat hose (1.5"), which itself is at least worth $20 -Hose clamps for the lay flat hose, although you'll need to provide your own hose clamps for other configurations -Marine grade rope, for lowering it Some additional notes: The 1.5 to GHT (garden hose) is a threaded adapter. Just keep that in mind, this is not intended to be a traditional / stationary basement sump with permanent PVC slip fittings. Also the cable float is not great for basement sumps, wells, or narrow spaces, because there's not a lot of room for them to float, they can get stuck. I'm not normally a huge fan of cable floats for this reason, but they're probably the best option for pools, lakes, standing water in the basement, things like that. The float turns off at 7 inches, so if you're trying to empty a pool or a flooded basement, you'll need to trick the float. Tricking the float on this is a bit cumbersome - usually you just hang the float on the hook, but the float switch on this is floppy and switches off too easily. So I had to zip tie it to the handle, and yet it still flopped over sometimes. Just be aware the float switch on this doesn't always want to cooperate. After tricking the float, it gets pretty low, under an inch. You can see at the bottom of the pump where the housing turns from yellow to black - that's basically the water line. Make sure to turn it off when it gets that low so you don't run dry and burn out the motor. The built-in filter thing is neat, and can handle a fair amount of sediment, sludge, and even old leaves. So if emptying a pool, no need to worry about the small debris. For me this is an easy thumbs up.

I got this pump and immediately started liking my purchase. I like that this pump comes with everything you would need to get started. It came with a very nice hose, all the fittings you would need and even had a rope to tie to the handle and lower the pump into a pool. I love how light it is, easy to handle and store, hope it holds up. I like the speed of the pump. At 2,000 gallons an hour, it’s not too fast, not too slow.

We bought this to drain our 24 foot above ground pool once it got below the drain hole and this was a complete waste of money. This thing ran constantly and probably suck twice for a few minutes even though it was in a good bit of water. It says it has up to 16 ft pump up ability but my pool height is 52 inches. Save your money and go to Lowe’s Home Depot or harbor freight. We’ve been trying to pump this pool for over three months.

Every now and then my backyard tends to flood and it's a real problem every time we try to dry it. This is a very convenient solution since I no longer need to make modifications for my drainage or install an expensive pump that may or may not be a long time part of my yard. I like that this can be left in the yard to pump the water out and just put it away just as easily. Very convenient on my part, I wish I got this sooner. I just make sure I clean it thoroughly after every use so it can last a long time.
