The media could not be loaded. After two years of not working, I set to find out how to repair my grandfather's beloved Bentina mantle clock that I inherited 28 years ago. Although I did first take it to a clock repair shop, they only glanced at the clock and said it would be $1000 to fully clean and figure out what was wrong with it, and that didn't cover if there were any parts needed! I'm not even sure the clock is worth that much, other than sentimental value, so I set to research and learn how to repair it myself. After watching a few videos, it was suggested to inspect the suspension spring for the pendulum, and sure enough, mine was broken. I was so happy to find this replacement part, and it was exactly what it needed! It took a little patience and some needle nose plyers to get it into place, but the fit is perfect and my clock is working again!! It also needed a good cleaning and clock oil (I highly recommend the Horace Whitaker's clock oil kit!), but had I not found this suspension spring, it would not be fully functional. Thank you - the price is unbelievable when I think about the fact the clock shop wanted so much for the repairs. I may buy another one of these just to keep on hand! ... show more
