These come vacuum-packed, so just drop them in some water for a few minutes and they will take their correct shape. Well made, seem to be of good quality, correct size with a uniform shape.

These are ok. Price is good but the filter material is "softer and finer" than the typical media sponge. They have a bit of "stickyness" or tack to them that makes it feel like they are oily, but aren't. They also come vacuum packed so it takes a bit for them to expand. The pads need to expand from vacuum packing. A trick for quick expansion is wet it and put it in the microwave oven for 20 seconds on high.

Is it a black sponge, yes. Is it great, no. Comes vacuum sealed in sets of three. All of them are cut poorly and you need to give them a tug to seperate from each other and to loosen them up individually. They also need to soak a bit to expand more. You eventually get close to what you ordered, but you shouldn't have to put in work to get it and it should be but better. ... show more
