I have a Kaabo Mantis 8 scooter that's a few years old with a "48V" (13s) battery in it. "13s" stands for 13, 4.2V lithium cells in series. Do the math and you get 54.6V which is why the description of this supply is the way it is. I still have the old charger, and was able to compare voltages. I measured 54.97V from this new charger but when connected to the battery that was already charged, it didn't try to charge it (this is a good thing) even though it was charged by my other supply that I measured at 54.7V. This suggests to me that this charger floats a few tenths of a volt higher, but should not actually try to charge the battery to that level. Even if it did though, we are talking under 0.5% of difference between the two supplies. As an added benefit, this unit also contains a fan to keep the supply cool, and it only runs when needed. On power-on the fan was off. The unit works how you'd expect - green when not connected, red when charging is active, and green again when done charging. If you check the pictures, you'll see my measurements. I used the female 3-pin round "L71Y" connector (its male mate is the GX16). The charger comes with lots of interchangeable outputs. I'm tempted to remove perhaps half a star (but leaving the rating as is) because the input is NOT a universal input (such as the IEC connector you typically see). This means it is a 110V cord, even though the box itself claims to do 240V (I didn't test it). That means you could theoretically plug it into a travel adapter and it should work, but I still prefer cables you can unplug and exchange. As for technical details on the 3-pin female L71Y connector I used, there is a picture shown with notch facing up, you can see the polarity of the probes. The hole closest to the notch is "N/C" (not connected) and not part of the circuit. This is normal and to be expected.

I needed a spare charger for our ebike batteries. What lead me to ordering this one was the fact that it actually has a cooling vent on one end (I have never heard the fan…or can confirm if there even is one). But most of these chargers boast internal cooling fans…yet they are sealed with no vents or opening. Anyway, it charges my battery well with no problems. I can attest to the case being a little cooler than our OEM chargers. Red LED when charging and green when the battery is charged. The extra tip adapters are nice…but I did not need them! So far, I am very pleased with this charger. Thanks! MY PERSONAL COMMENTS: I am an approved Amazon Vine Member. We are provided the opportunity to order (free of charge) many items that are new to the market, or where a seller just wants some additional exposure for their product. We are NOT required to review every item in exchange for using it. I personally only order products that are important to me (and/or my wife), items I can use or items that I have the ability to properly test (I have lots of test equipment). So, from that use/testing I can provide an honest evaluation & review (and not always a 4 or 5 star) based upon my use and testing of the product. I got this because my dog ate the charger to my teen's hoverboard and it works! I love that it is universal and has all the tips. It works perfectly, is a great quality, and the charging quality is great! Seems to charge the same way the original charger worked. Battery life is about the same as well!

My child is very pleased with how quickly this charged his Hoverboard. It functioned very well. It gave it good battery life. I have no idea what all the plugs are used for. I am really glad it worked for this electric toy. It’s a great value for your money. I would recommend a couple, especially if you have more than one Hoverboard. Buy with confidence! Highly recommended!

Was initially fairly happy with this and all the connections that it offered, thinking I had found a one-charger-fits-all type item. Overall, everything feels very cheap, and I was not impressed with the quality of anything. It does not have a battery, so it has to be plugged in while it's in use. Unfortunately, my charger did not work when I got it, and while it displayed a green charging icon, I could not get anything to register a charge even after trying multiple devices and multiple connectors. Overall, very disappointed and would not recommend this for value, even if your unit does work.
