Purchased three fans for installation in new home. The electrician who installed them commented on the quality of the fans and the heavy duty mounting brackets included. The fans have three speeds and three choices for lighting - all operated from the remote. The fans are very quiet at lower speeds but develop a noticeable hum at higher speeds that are really too much air movement and would never be used under normal conditions. (Think about it like a Ferrari, it can go 200 mph, but would you want to?) Great value compared to similarly priced fans at BIG BOX stores. And the design with the "P-51" blades and walnut finish look great.

Ordered this for above my dining room table as I’m going for a kind of rustic look. The fan looks great and gets plenty of compliments. The fan is quite powerful and honestly, I can’t go above 4 with it without first making sure there are no stray napkins on the table because they’ll end up blowing away. The different shades of color that the light throws is also a nice feature. I find the yellowish one to be great for day to day use while the brighter blue one is perfect for when I’m writing or the kids are crafting. The ability to dim is also helpful for when I want a mellower feel, like after a big meal when we’re winding down and enjoying drinks. Installation was pretty straight forward with no surprises. The fan/light itself is well built and quite solid. All in all a fine purchase and one I’m very satisfied with. I just ordered a second one today for the livingroom!

I purchased the Haipeel 60 inch, 3 blade ceiling fan with light. I had some concerns regarding how lightweight the dark walnut fan blades were. I returned the ceiling fan back to Amazon and I wrote a review on Amazon.com about my concerns. I was surprised when Haipeel’s Customer Service Representative – Emily reached out to me in an email. Emily was very responsive to my questions and Haipeel’s engineers explained to me their selection process in choosing the right walnut wood to use in their fan blades, and their kiln dry process to remove all moisture from the wood. I accepted their explanation. Based upon my several email communications with Emily in Customer Service it became very evident to me that Haipeel cared about providing exceptional customer service to someone who wasn’t even a customer. I thought to myself that if Haipeel treats me very good before I am a customer, I can imagine how much better they will treat me after I am a customer. I decided to move forward with installing the Haipeel ceiling fan. Emily in Customer Service was outstanding; she is definitely a 5 star customer focused person. Emily provided quick same day detailed answers to every question that I had. Emily is by far the best customer service representative that I have ever interacted with. My bedroom ceiling is a vaulted ceiling with a 26 degree slope to it. One of my many questions to Emily was can I install the Haipeel ceiling fan on a steep sloped ceiling and what length should the down rod be? Emily recommended a 0 to 45 degree ceiling fan adapter that I should purchase, and she said the 15 inch down rod that came with my ceiling fan will work. It did. Assembling the ceiling fan and the installation was easy and straight forward. I was impressed with Haipeel’s use of all metal installation parts and real walnut wood. The ceiling fan is made with real quality and is very good looking. Right from when I first turned the fan on, the fan operated very smoothly with no vibration, no adjustments needed. The ceiling fan is mounted on the ceiling above our bed and it is very quiet when we are sleeping. This is a big plus.

TL;DR: Everything is perfect except the color temperature - I wish it was adjustable across the range rather than being 3 presets of which only a monster would ever use the third option. Installation: I've installed a few different brands of similar fans and this one is by far the easiest. The instructions are clear, extra hardware is included to account for lost parts/manufacturing defects, and three different down rod lengths are included (although if you have 12 foot or higher ceilings you need to look into whether or not they provide extension cables to support a 2 foot down rod (which is NOT included)). Some things that might aid your installation: 1. There is a little ring that has some magnets attached. I would recommend removing the magnets before you mount the fan, then adding them back to the ring when you push it into place. Otherwise the ring will keep snapping into place via the magnets and you'll want your hands free at that point. 2. Be careful when attaching the fan blades with their screws - it can be easy to cross thread them if aren't careful so make sure you line up the fan blade holes with a flashlight before dropping the screws in. Don't over tighten the fan blade screws. You will start to hear the "wood" creak and you should stop there or before there. I'm fairly certain that you could break the fan blades by tightening to hard if you decided to. 3. Don't use a drill to assemble the fan before mounting it on the ceiling. I used a DeWalt electric screwdriver. A drill could easily over torque things. 4. If you are nit-picky you might want to strip just a little tiny bit more wire off of the controller unit's wire jackets that you connect to your ceiling wiring. I use Wago Lever Nuts for splice connections and the amount of wire exposed on the controller from the factory does allow you to push the wires into Wagos too far. You can just be careful and pay attention to the wire depth if you want to skip this step. If you are using twist connectors you might also find the amount of exposed wire inadequate to create a good twist. 5. On the iteration that I received the ceiling bracket included a little plastic wire splicer screwed into the side of it that I guess you could use to splice the wires together if you didn't have Wagos or twist connectors but I wouldn't recommend using it. I'm not an electrician but splicing wires together outside of Wagos or twist connectors seems...potentially dangerous. Also, if you don't remove the included splicing bracket then it is just about impossible to screw the ceiling bracket into the ceiling because it is in the way. 6. If you use the shortest down rod stuffing all of the wires into it can be a little bit of a pain. A zip tie or twist tie would probably help but I was already on the ladder. Just make sure you feel all the way around the edges and DO NOT remove the screws that the wire cover/cap slots in to - loosen them and use the holes in the cover/cap to push the screws into and then twist. Controls: If you want to control this from your phone it doesn't have an app. You would need zigbee/smart switch/etc, but that is on you, that is not a feature of this thing. The remote control is just fine (batteries not included lol). It's probably a little bigger than it needs to be and it is a little intuitive that the overall power button only turns the fan off despite the light have a dedicated and clear on/off. But once you know that it is fine. Your guests might be a little confused. If you already have a ceiling fan with a light installed and that fan has separate wall switches for the light and the fan you will no longer be able to control the light and fan independently from the wall switches. That is probably my biggest complaint with all of these DC fans - the wall switch now basically enables the remote to be able to control the fan. This fan/light WILL remember your last light/fan state however, so that is nice. You do have the option to reverse the fan direction from the remote without getting out a ladder and flipping a physical switch on the motor. I only mention it because I know that is important for some people. The remote includes the option to run for 2 hours or 4 hours. I don't know if that is light-only/fan-only/light-and-fan. I suspect it is just for the fan because the button has a little symbol that sort of looks like wavy air. Personally I thing not having an app is a PLUS. I have another fan that I really liked the look of who's controller did include the ability to use an app to control it. I never planned on using it so I just figured that it doesn't matter that it is there. What I found though with fans that do include an app for control is that the control box is sometimes bigger and they always include additional wires that you have to connect and cable manage and are just a pain during install. I really like that this fan does not have app control because it makes installation easier. The worst part about installing a fan is the time when you are on the ladder and little things like that can make it so much easier. Sound Level/Noise: I almost did not buy this fan because it listed its noise level at 28 db. I looked at another fan I already had and it said 15 db. I suspect though that some manufacturers list their noise level with the fan at the lowest fan level while others list it at the highest. I literally cannot hear the fan motor itself until I turn it up to 5/6 or 6/6. Even at those levels I'm not sure if the noise I'm hearing is the moving air or the fan motor. It is quiet, and if anybody thinks it is loud I really need to know what a quiet fan means to them because they are living in the future. Fan Function: I've only used it in counter-clockwise/cooling mode. I am using it in a pretty small room (11 feet by 11 feet). This thing moves so much air. I usually have it on 2/6 or 3/6 when I'm using it. I had a ~15 year old AC fan before this and when I would run that thing on full blast it MAYBE moved as much air as this on 1/6 or 2/6. The amount of air this moves on 1/6 is comfortable but I would say that if you only want a tiny bit of air blowing on you that this might actually be a victim of its own success. I should say the word speed here because people might search for that. If you are looking for "fan speed" or anything else speed related read my section on "Fan Function". Light Function: This is where this thing loses some points. It has three color temperature settings and the bluest of these I wouldn't even use in a garage or a surgery room. Some people like "bright white" in their house, I personally think those people are so dead inside that they were never alive. I prefer "soft white", and the soft white setting on this is "okay". There's just something a little weird about it, like when I first turned it on during the daytime I thought that it looked just a LITTLE to yellow, but when switching the the "neutral" setting I thought it was a little too blue. I would pay an extra $50 to just have the color temperature be on a user select-able gradient across a range. The other thing that I'm not a fan of on this light is the dome/light spreader. I have 9 foot ceilings in this room and when my eyes catch the light source directly it is kind of like looking directly at a light bulb. I think this is a common problem in DC ceiling fan/light combos and I hope it improves over time. One final note on "bright white" vs. "soft white" - if you ever walk into somebody's house and they have some bright and some soft lights installed in the same fixture/same switch - just leave. Appearance/Look: I thought I wouldn't like the 3 blade but I actually do - it is good for a small room/space. See the "Light Function" section for my critique of the lighting (which is plenty). The "wood" grain is completely adequate for something up on your ceiling. Some competitors describe their fans as wood grain but their pictures just look like somebody painted a piece of plastic brown/copper. This does have a wood grain look (but be aware that it is just a print on what feels like a styrafoamish blade). The black metal portions are very minimized on this model and create a nice contrast. I wouldn't ever do a "flush mount" fan with the wood/black color scheme because in my opinion the flush mount cans/barrels are too dominating. I like the look and will be installing this same thing in another small bedroom as well as two on my patio. I REALLY prefer the look of the "YUHAO Shamshla 60 in. Indoor Farmhouse Black Wood Ceiling Fan with Remote Control for Living Room or Patio" but they don't offer the same look in a 52 inch fan with an integrated light. Value: This is extremely subjective. My budget on ceiling fans for this projects was up to $400 per fan, and I would have pushed higher for the perfect product. Unfortunately though, I couldn't find something that was exactly what I wanted at literally any price point. This was the cheapest fan I've installed so far and I'll be installing 3 more which is 3 more than any other fan I've ever installed and because I can't find anything that perfectly ticks all of my boxes - value is my driver on that. In the absence of a 52 inch YUHAO Shamshla with an integrated light, this was what I determined to be my sweet spot of value, features, and appearance. The only things that I don't like about it is: 1. The inability to choose a specific color temperature of the light 2. The "dome" that spreads the light - I don't like the way it looks in particular, and when you look up at the ceiling it is like staring into a light bulb If 4.5/5 was an option I would give it that but it is not 100% perfect IMO. This is the longest thing I've written since college.
