Although I love this and can't wait to dig in and start growing these beautiful trees. After opening the package and seeing everything that comes with it and how nicely it's packaged with the beautiful cedar box, the burlap sacks, and including everything you need to raise your bonsai trees, this would make a perfect gift for someone! They would have everything they needed all in one bundle and wouldn't have to go out and buy anything extra just to use a present someone bought them. Which sometimes happens. Sometimes you'll get a gift from someone but you won't be able to use it without needing some special tool or device and usually have to then go out and purchase it yourself just so you can use your gift and not hurt your friend or family's feelings for not using their gift.... With this as a gift, they won't have to go out and buy anything extra! No soil, that's included, no burlap sacks, included, bonsai special tools, included, everything you need to start from seed to tree is inside this kit.. Just be sure to read the directions fully! I was reading the reviews and I noticed that the people who were having issues growing their trees must not have read their instructions fully because of where they said that had them placed at what day and other things they said that made me think they didn't read the directions fully or didn't understand them. Either way take your time and read them . If you have any questions about them.. remember you can Google anything.. One last said she got hers to grow but didn't know how to maintain them because the instructions didn't say how.. that's when she should have Googled or YouTubed. But I love this little kit! If they come up with other types, I would definitely buy more! I think the price is very reasonable too! ... show more

This is was great value, comes with all the tools and a wooden box. It is a littler more detailed then I excepted but the instructions are great except one section that I had to research. I’m excited to watch them grow!

First try 2 of 5 sprouted but I've got plenty more seeds and I'm optimistic that I can get the rest to grow. It's a well equipped kit with with everything I need.

I’m rating this kit based on the germination success of the seeds. The Flame Tree and Jacaranda sprouted fairly quickly, which was great. However, the other seeds didn’t germinate even after almost a month. Later, I learned that maple, spruce, and pine seeds require cold stratification — something that really should have been mentioned in the instructions. As a result, those seeds are now in the fridge for a few months. Hopefully, that will do the trick. ... show more
