I bought this because I’ve been a bit worried about security around the house. At first, I was worried about the wired setup being difficult to install, but my husband and I set it up together, and it wasn’t too bad. The picture quality is actually really clear — you can see the driveway, the garage, even license plates. I love that it can tell the difference between people and cars, so I don’t get unnecessary alerts all the time. I can check it on my phone from anywhere, which really gives me peace of mind. Even when it rains or the wind blows, the video doesn’t cut out, and the 512GB DVR lets me record right away. The downsides? You have to run the wires and connect power, so it’s a little tricky to set up completely alone. Also, the storage might fill up if you record a lot, and it doesn’t have fancy features like facial recognition. But for just keeping an eye on the house, it’s perfect.     • Easy to setup! Easy to use!

This is our first security system for the home. We recently bought a new house in a nice neighborhood, but wanted the piece of mind with a security system in place to look at in case anything happens. It was a lot easier to setup and use than we thought! Exact placement took some thought. We wanted to see the front and back of the house so we ended up installing the four cameras on the corners of the house under the soffett. Each camera came with 50ft of cord that reminds me of RCA cable. Each of those went into the central DVR. Each camera needs a power connection too, so we ran the included power wire right next to it. We ran it into a central closet close to the front of the house. Everything was easy to put in through the attic space. Dont forget to clip the wires out of the way onto the rafters with those plastic straps. We ended up using an old vga monitor to view the cameras (you can see all four on the screen at once!!) And it works good, but plan on eventually running another hdmi to the tv. Overall the software was easy to setup and use too. Very intuative. Very happy with the purchase. See how this does for a few minths and maybe invest in the 8 camera setup next time. Good purchase! ... show more

    • Don't Buy if you need audio.

Don't buy this if your expecting to have audio. It's video only I had to contact amazon support to find out and got recommended to get at Mic Kit for it. After setting everything up which took a bit since had to run it into the attic and place the cameras. Looking at the reviews and using the AI feature on amazon it says it should of had audio. There are ports for the audio to be put into the DVR but that is it. I don't know if we are just missing the cable but had to use amazon customer service chat that informed me if the cameras don't have a tiny pinhole the cameras cannot record sound. As far as I can see they don't. Which is also weird because on the app it shows a audio button. I'm frustrated and wish it was stated somewhere more clearly that it doesn't have audio. ... show more
