    • Well Made and Sturdy
My soon to be mother-in-law got my kids a 7' basketball hoop this last spring, and they really took to basketball :-) So when I saw this 10 foot basketball hoop on Vine I ordered it, so glad I did! kids love it being so high, but their friend had a hoop that can easily be lowered with a handle and this one can't, it's more of a manual process to lower and raise the hoop from a lower height to 10 feet. And the instructions for putting the basketball together could have been a little bigger in print and a little bit better, but that doesn't take away from the quality of this hoop! The materials are solid and well-made and if that is what I am giving my review on it gets 5 stars. However, if it is for the instructions as to how to put it together, or the raising capability, then it would be a 4 star revie. But from my 10- and 12-year-old boys, they give it 5 stars :-) ... show more

So this is cheaper that the big names, and it shows. The base seems comically small, compared to a standard one. The backboard has an unusual pattern, not the standard square box. So good luck teaching/training shots with this. The screws go through the unit in two directions left to right and front to back. Almost like a + sign. I found that strange. Most of the time it's just in one direction. Also the screws are longer than they need to be, so protrude out of the other side a lot. Better brands normally give you rubber caps to cover the exposed screws. Not here. They recommended using sand instead of water, as the winter might cause the water to expand too much and crack the base. Now, I've had hoop sets for years outside with no problem with water doing that to the base. I'm wondering if this will hold up. But they do give you a spare net and screws which is nice Also you CAN'T easily adjust the height. Requires removing bolts and knobs and then supporting and moving the unit up or down. Most modern hoop sets have quick adjust or simple adjustments. TIP: Get your net on BEFORE you attach the top part into the base. Unless you want to tip it over or climb a ladder to do it. ... show more

This hoop overall is nice but I would definitely say its more for kids. Im sure adults can use but it's obviously not as good. It wasn't too hard to put together the instructions were clear about everything and everything I needed came included. You can either fill the base with water or sand I did sand for mine. My nephew who is 12 loves it he can be playing on it for hours. ... show more

This basketball goal has adjustable height on it, from 4ft to 10ft. Makes it suitable for any age. It is very study, built well. You can fill the base with water or sand, we filled it with sand but either one will work. It is for indoors or outdoors. I put it outdoors and have had so much fun with the family with it. The backboard is thick, says it is shatterproof. So far it is, and we have played a lot on it. It was so easy to put together. This is a great product for the family. Not everybody has an area where they can attach a basketball board to a structure. So freestanding structures are great. This was easy to assemble, and what I really like is that it can be moved to different areas pretty easily. It is sturdy, it does not move around if they are hanging on the basket or the ball hits the backboard very hard. Although one person could assemble this, you really want to to make it go quickly. We got this for our son's 16th birthday. It was fairly simple to assemble, it came with everything needed. It also came with a spare net ( I thought that was a thoughtful design). We left our at regulation height, but it is adjustable. Water in the base is working just fine for us to hold it in place, even through a few storms we have had. This was a great deal. ... show more
