  • Great value charger!
Just as advertised, working great and easy install.

  • Good charger without breaking the bank
Great basic charger. I installed it with 4 screws plugged it in and it started charging away. Topped off my 36v battery in no time

  • Great compact charger
This charger is a great small size and packs a lot of features. The whip is detachable from the base and has two lead wires which are already fitted nicely with rings to easily mount to your battery or bus bar. The charger has a led indication light and a strong fan to keep it cool. I was able to run this all night without fear of overheating and over charging. It is light weight and has a built in handle for portablity. The charge rate is pretty standard for its size and so far it is working for me well. Nice little charger for the money. ... show more

  • Very nice Lifepo 36V charger, but not a solar DC replacement Very nice Lifepo 36V charger, but not a solar DC replacement
BLUF: To be upfront, I got this 36V volt battery charger for a very specific and non traditional test setup. Although I did not achieve my desired results in full, it is not the fault of the product and the charger works flawlessly as it is intended. Like it's 48V counterpart that I also tested, everything about the unit is durable and seems very rugged. It's IP65 rated, so should hold up to some rain, but I would personally only use these in a covered or indoors environment to be safe... especially because of the limited cable length. I would have preferred SB50 easy disconnect connectors so I added my own so I could test various solar connections, to include spark free XT90s to make things even safer when under load. I also wish there was an on/off button on the golf cart charger, but it's on all the time once plugged into an AC outlet. You could solve this by using a durable and properly rated outlet or adapter that has its own on/off switch, but something that would be nice to have directly on the device. ------------- TESTING: A far as charging a regular 36V lifepo battery... I didn't do that. My test was to see if a product like this could substitute a more advanced (and more expensive) AC to DC device (something like an EG4 Chargeverter at about 5x the price) to provide DC power via an existing Power Stations solar input connection. And the answer is ... Yes... Sort of (same as the 48V version I also tested). Knowing that the max wattage possible is 36V (43.5V under charging load) x 18A, I knew this would max between 650-750W under ideal conditions and was hoping to be able to achieve somewhere around that, but I wasn't able to. It's not this chargers fault, but the way I was testing it with other power stations, which have their own MPPT controllers and internal Battery Management Systems (BMS), this golf cart battery charger and the power stations were not entirely compatible. It didn't fail in all device tests, but the output was limited when it did work. Primarily , I wanted to do this because my Pecron E3600s disable AC charging when tied together in 240V via it's proprietary hub. So, when solar output is low or unavailable, being able to charge with AC via a gas generator or the grid can be beneficial, but this Pecron setup requires DC input and solar DC might be limited or unavailable in bad weather or in the evening hours. So, I tried using this golf cart battery charger to push DC power to various power stations solar DC inputs and got some mixed results. It DID work on the Pecron's, but was limited to about 230W at 5.3A. I could find no way to change this or improve it. I believe it is because this golf cart charger sees the power station as a nearly full battery and leaves it at end state charging (greater than 90% battery), even when the power station is well below at 60%. This was similar to the same product test using their 48V gf cart charger. I can see the golf charger is always flashing green to confirm this (means it thinks the battery is 90% or more), instead of flashing red (less than 90%). 230W is better than nothing, but not really great either. I was able to improve to almost 600W by adding another 48V test unit from this manufacturer and an additional 12V car charger. Better, but still not great, especially when you consider the efficiency vs cost. Also, unfortunately, this did not work with either of my Aferiy Power stations nor a Bluetti one either. The golf charger would just flash red/green which seems to be an error of some type, but is not mentioned in the instruction manual. In the end. I'm glad I tested this. If I really need some power, I can achieve some and now I know. But. It looks like golf cart chargers are not a replacement for a more dedicated DC output device if planning to supplement DC into solar. ... show more

  • Not a True 48V Charger—But Handy for Reviving Over-Discharged Batteries
I initially picked up this PoerSifwt charger thinking it was a standard 48V charger, but it's actually a 43.8V model specifically for LiFePO4 batteries. So I grabbed it by mistake—but ended up finding a good use for it. Despite the mix-up, it turned out to be really helpful for waking up over-discharged 48V lithium packs that other chargers wouldn’t recognize. The build quality is solid, the LED indicator is easy to read, and the waterproof housing is a nice touch for outdoor use. If you're looking to maintain or revive LiFePO4 batteries, especially ones that have dropped too low for regular chargers to detect, this unit is worth keeping around. Just make sure you're getting it for the right battery chemistry and voltage range. ... show more

  • I thought it was 48 volt based on the title
There is zero reason that 48 volt should be in the title of this product. And my perspective that is rather deceptive and and particularly distasteful. If you got a 36 volt golf cart this will provide some super fast charging at 18 amps. It does seem like a very well-built charger and has some weight to it. The connectors are insulated well and quality pieces. Without opening it up and looking on the inside it does appear that they didn't really cut any corners on this charger which is a good thing at the price point because it is pretty expensive. If it would have been a 48 volt charger as initially advertised I would give it five stars all day long and if it's at 36 volt in the title and not 48 volt I've also give it five stars but as long as there's these deceptive and incorrect product labels going on I can't feel good about recommending this ... show more

  • Solid build, clear LED, and waterproof housing is a plus
Like its 48V counterpart, this 36V 18A LiFePO4 charger has been solid so far. The build quality feels sturdy, the LED indicator is easy to read at a glance, and the waterproof housing is a nice touch—especially for use in a garage, shop, or other areas where moisture could be an issue. Installation was straightforward, and it’s been charging as expected without any problems. Overall, it feels well-made compared to other chargers I’ve used. ... show more
