This kit includes everything you need to replace the filter media in your Fluval 306/307 canister filer. I used for my 306 and everything fit perfectly and it was extremely easy to replace. Just remember to not switch every piece out at once or you can crash your cycle. The quality is great, just as good as the Fluval branded replacement media. I really that it came with gasket grease, this will keep your gaskets from wearing out so fast. I am not a big user of activated carbon, however it is nice to have after giving the tank a cycle of medication to help remove any extra from the water. The addition of the phosphate sponges is a big plus as this will help remove excess phosphate that can contribute to algae growth and it will make your water clearer. The polishing pads are a must in the aquarium if you want clear water. Considering how much each of these would cost on their own, and over the years I have bought them that way, this is a great value. ... show more

This filter media kit ended up being very useful for me in a few different ways. The materials are well made and feel sturdy, and each type of media was packaged nicely and easy to work with. I used some of the filter media for cleaning and filtering purposes around the house, including coffee canisters and fermentation jars, and it worked well for that. I also plan to use the bio foam in my aquaponics setup, and so far it seems to be performing as expected. No harsh chemical smells. Everything included in this kit was useful to me in one way or another, and I appreciate having a variety of filter media options in one set. Great assortment of filter medium floss filer and sponges.There should be enough for several fills of your canister filter, or even longer for a hang on filter, with a little bit of customizing. The sponges can be pulled apart to increase the surface, or if you need a square, leave 2 pieces together. There are even 2 packages of lubricant for your pump maintenance included. 4 ready filled bags with 2 charcoal medium and 2 ceramic mini rings for the good bacteria to do its thing. This is a very complete filter media kit that works with more than just a 300 series Fluval. With multiple tanks in the house and therefore multiple Fluval filter setups, having options available that work in multiple size filters is really handy. I love the fact that it comes with the bags for the ceramic rings or activated carbon, I always seem to be short on those. This kit is great! All of the filter marterial is as good as the OEM filter matierial. The carbon and ceramic rings come in zippered media bags that are reusable. The included grease is good to re-lubricate the seals after cleaning the cartridge filter.
