We installed this 36 inch electric fireplace heater on our porch three season room. It has the heating power to take the chill off of the cold room during the late fall and winter. We placed it on the wall and will be adding a surround and a mantel. The remote makes it easy to adjust the temp and we really like how the fireplace looks so real and heats so well.

The instructions were in a box confined behind the front glass with no hint of how to remove the glass. I had to go to YouTube. The instructions were pretty useless anyway. The holes on the mounting bracket are 12” apart. This thing is heavy and the holes should be 16” apart to match up with studs. The flame selection has too many flames with annoying green tint. Not enough orange and red to resemble actual fire. My wife likes it, so we kept it. I would have returned it.

The media could not be loaded. This is a revised review. Both the vendor and Amazon were very responsive in replacing the original unit that was damaged in shipping. The vendor was also very responsive in helping troubleshoot and address my other concerns. I was a little nervous purchasing an electric fireplace online. After much review, I purchased the Alpaca 42 inch. The features that I like about this fireplace specifically are its narrow bezel and the ability to control not only color, but also flame intensity, height, etc. Many comparable fireplaces did not make clear whether there was a function to control flame intensity. I bought this unit and size specifically to fit a space that I was building for these dimensions. The fireplace looks great and all the functions seem to work without issue. For the price-point, I really like the look and performance of this fireplace. However, as with most fireplaces that use a rotating drum to create the flame effect, there is a low level hum/buzz that on most settings is tolerable and expected. With the unit we installed, one of the flame speed settings also generates a more noticeable hum/buzz than the others. After working with the vendor to try to resolve it, I decided that I could work around that specific speed setting. For the most part, when the fireplace is using that speed setting, the hum disappears into the background noise when the TV and other activities are going on. It is only really noticeable when there is no other noise in the room. In those cases, I just use a different flame speed setting. So, that is the primary reason that I cannot give this fireplace the highest rating. Electric fireplaces in general are not completely silent as there is a rotating drum that creates the flame effect. One final note is that the instruction manual is not very useful or clear. But most everything is intuitive except the explanation of the various features related to color and flame management.

Wow, this is such a cool fireplace heater! I really like the look of the fire simulation and that I can choose from many different colors. The heat output is excellent, and I like that it has a built-in thermostat to regulate the temperature to turn itself on and off. I also like that it is easy to control using the included remote. In addition, I like the timer function that will only allow the unit to run only for a certain period of time. It took a fair amount of time to install, but the effort was definitely worth it! With that being said, I highly recommend this product, and it receives the top five star rating from me!
