It sure packed a punch when the trigger was pulled!
This mini cordless saw seems like it could very well be a diamond in the ruff! It's shipped in a tattered plain generic box, not packed with any protection or protective shipping material. It's all loose in the box, that has sustained damages from its sharp blade. It's all cut up from the blade during its transport in shipping. It sure packed a punch when the trigger was pulled! I didn't even charge it yet. The blade is very sharp! We can see that from the box that it was shipped it! This thing went from 0 to full speed power without any delay. It was full power and ready to cut! Be careful I am fully confident that this could cause damage to a person if not used correctly or used carelessly. I highly suggest wearing work gloves and some eye protection when using this saw. I have used other electric chain saws in the past. But this little baby shure seems to out beat them at the start line. The real thing is who finishes the race to get the job done. ✅ 👍 (Note: the blade blade protector piece spring is not working, as you can see in the video of my review. It just flops around. So it's not very safe to use this way. I'll have to see if I can fix it. I'll have to deduct a star for this reason. If it wasn't for this, it'd be a full 5 star review.)

Best of both worlds great power on 8.0 aftermarket batteries. Cut large branches 8-10 inch diameter after storm with no problem. Over 20 full cuts on batteries with pruning smaller branches. Chain is good normal loosening at first and easy to adjust. We had 115mph winds that dropped many large branches and I used it for 4 hours pretty much nonstop and it is still has a relatively sharp chain.

This chainsaw performs beyond my expectations.

The setup took me a little while because I wasn’t familiar with how it worked, but I was able to figure it out easily by following the instructions. I have bought two more batteries just so I can work on a bigger project. It comes with an extra set of chain blades, and the rest is pretty much plug and play. I have some good-sized tree trunks in my backyard that need to be removed, and this gadget is going to make my life so much easier!

A Solid Cordless Chainsaw With Good Overall Performance

I have been using a Sun Joe 8-inch 2-in-1 corded pole saw/chainsaw for years without any problems, but there are times when I just want to grab a chainsaw and get to work without having to drag out an extension cord. When I saw this battery-powered chainsaw was compatible with DeWalt batteries I already own, I jumped at the chance to order it. This is a pretty impressive package. It comes with both 16-inch and 18-inch guide bars and two chains for each size, giving you four chains total. It also includes a screwdriver and manual. Batteries and a charger are not included, and you will also need to supply your own bar and chain oil before using the saw. One feature I was particularly happy to see is the safety chain brake. My corded saw does not have one, and I consider a chain brake an important safety feature on a full-size chainsaw. This saw uses a dual safety system with a rapid-stop brake, and the manufacturer states that the brake can stop the chain in 0.2 seconds. Setup was straightforward. After installing the bar and chain, I added bar and chain oil to the reservoir, installed my two 20V DeWalt batteries from my drill/impact driver set, and the saw worked flawlessly. The manufacturer recommends two DeWalt 20V MAX batteries rated at 4-5Ah each for optimal performance. My existing batteries are enough to get the saw running and handle the testing I did, although I will eventually order some higher-capacity batteries to get longer runtime. I tested the saw with both the 16-inch and 18-inch setups and did not encounter any problems with either one. There are three things I wish had been included. First, there is no bar/chain cover or sheath for protecting the chain during storage and transport. Second, there is no storage bag or case for keeping the extra bar and chains together. Third, and more importantly to me, the saw does not have metal bucking spikes, also commonly called bumper spikes or felling dogs. These provide a solid pivot point against the wood while cutting and can improve leverage, control, and stability. I would have liked to see them on a saw with 16-inch and 18-inch bars. I also want to mention safety because this is a full-size chainsaw. I have been trained as a sawyer through the disaster response organization I volunteer with, and before that training, my chainsaw safety gear consisted of little more than gloves and sunglasses. I now know that is nowhere near enough. If you are new to chainsaws, please get proper training and use appropriate PPE, including a helmet, face shield, safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or protective pants, and protective footwear. Avoid loose clothing, and consider cut-resistant sleeves if you want additional arm protection. I also strongly recommend carrying a bleeding-control kit on your person with a tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, and trauma dressing. Most importantly, get proper training before operating a chainsaw. These tools can cause life-threatening injuries in seconds, regardless of whether they are gas, corded electric, or battery powered. Despite the few things I wish had been included, I am very pleased with the saw itself. Having a cordless chainsaw that works with batteries I already own, gives me two different bar lengths, includes four chains, and incorporates a chain brake makes this a very useful addition to my outdoor tools. For those times when I just want to grab a saw and get some cutting done without dealing with an extension cord, this is exactly what I was looking for.

A Practical Cordless Saw for Everyday Yard Work
I picked up this cordless chainsaw mainly for yard maintenance and light tree work around the house, things like trimming branches, cutting down storm-fallen limbs, and breaking wood into manageable pieces for disposal. I like that it gives you both 12-inch and 16-inch options, which makes it more flexible than a single-size saw. In real use, it feels well balanced and easy to control. For pruning and mid-sized branches, it cuts cleanly without forcing the blade. I’ve used it in the backyard and along the fence line where dragging out a gas chainsaw would be overkill, and being cordless makes a big difference. No pull starts, no fumes, just grab it and get to work. The automatic oiling system is a nice touch. I don’t have to constantly think about lubrication while cutting, and the chain runs smoothly without binding. Battery life has been enough for typical weekend tasks—clearing a few trees or cutting multiple sections of wood before needing a recharge. What I appreciate most is that it feels practical and approachable, even if you’re not someone who uses chainsaws all the time. It’s powerful enough to be useful, but still manageable and less intimidating than larger gas models. For regular home yard work and cleanup, it fits naturally into my routine and gets the job done without hassle.
