The daily progression of this filter is amazing. My tank was so green I couldn’t see Joe swimming around in there. A few times I thought he had passed from the horrible water conditions. Joe is a trooper for sure. The pictures are daily updates after getting the filter installed and running. Goes from green to clear in a matter of days. It has even made it so that my regular filter is running a lot smoother. The suction on this is great as well! I’m sure it is a quiet filter, I can’t hear it over my bubblers or regular filter. Definitely worth every penny spent. I no longer need to clean out 20 gallons of green swamp water! It took 5 days for perfectly clear water again.

We were skeptical, but the algae bloom in the tank was severe, and water changes didn't seem to be helping, so we ordered this UV filter. We chose it because the light is encased so it treats the water without exposing the fish to the light. We noticed a gradual difference daily. Ours took a little longer than three days to totally clear, but within five days, the water was crystal clear again. We did water tests along the way to make sure all the levels were correct, and just let the light do its work. Very happy with this purchase, and we're no longer skeptics. We'll remove it from the tank now, and just put it away in case we need it again in the future.

I recently installed the Coospider Repta 200GPH Aquarium Filter with UV feature in my 55-gallon tank, and I couldn’t be more pleased with its performance! This filter has been an absolute game changer for maintaining the health and clarity of my aquarium. First off, the pump works exceptionally well. It delivers a steady flow of water, which is vital for creating good water circulation and ensuring that my fish and plants are thriving. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the overall water quality since I started using this filter. It effectively removes debris and keeps the water moving, which is essential for my aquatic environment. One of the standout features of this filter is the UV sterilization. I can confidently say that it has kept my tank crystal clear! Ever since I added the Coospider Repta filter, I’ve noticed a significant reduction in algae growth and any suspended particles. The water looks vibrant and healthy, making it a joy to look at. My fish seem happier too, swimming around in such a pristine environment. Installation was straightforward, and the unit itself is compact enough to fit nicely in my tank without taking up too much space. Update 12/11/2024: The pump did its job great at first. However I noticed the flow had stopped from the pump. The motor has completely stopped working after only 4 months of use. No blockages or anything. We have always maintained and cleaned the unit per the instructions. I was really impressed while it was working as our tank was very pristine. But for the motor to stop working after only 4 months is a huge concern. I would advise to look elsewhere as this seems to be a dud. Update 12/14/2024. Customer service was prompt in returning my inquiry for support. I was notified a replacement unit will be sent out shortly. Will update accordingly. May 2025. We did receive a replacement unit. 4 months later it has already failed. The light has stopped working in only a few months. The second unit we had purchase the pump has failed. Two units and both failed in less than a few months. Huge disappointment. Absolutely do not recommend. Extreme poor quality.

This was kinda hard for me to figure it all out, took me about 3 hours to get it right. But that can also be because this is my first time using a canister filter. The pipe tubing tends to kink a lot and it makes it harder for the filter to even start. Had to make adjustments just for it to work on my 20 gallon long baby turtle tank, used this filter because when it comes to turtles it’s best to have a stronger filter, even more so when you have fish in with the turtle. So far works good, hopefully it last me awhile even with every tank update my turtle would have throughout its life time. I will update if anything bad happens with the filter. And hopefully it’s not a pain in the back for anyone else to put together like it was for me.

Can you please tell me how I can tell if the UV light is working because when I had it plugged in I do not see the UV tube light up. I do like how the filter part seems to clear up our fish tank. But it is kind of a pain to open to change the filter. It would be nice if there was an easier way to open it to change or wash out the filter. Would really like to know if the UV tube is supposed to light upon any way. I just bought this in May 2025 ! Update …. The company got a hold of me I told them about the UV light not lighting up. Luckily it was still under warranty and they sent me a new UV light! They were very polite and easy to deal with. And best of all … the new light works!!! 🙂
