I've added to this regarding usage experience. Separating the parts for loading is easy. Loading into our SUV goes great. The individual components are lighter and easier to load than a wheel chair. Works great, easy to maneuver. Speed control is responsive. People have commented on how easy it is to load after seeing me in the grocery store parking. Just recieved and assembled it. Super easy! Don't know about the performance yet, I'll update that after we've used it some. Notes on receiving and assembly: 1. The box is heavy. 100 pounds heavy. You may need help. You will need some sort of wheeled device to move it. (If you don't have anything, buy a two wheeler from Lowes or Home Depot. Use it this once, clean it up, and return it for refund. Just say you changed your mind.) 2. Lay the box flat on the floor. Right side up. Cut the straps and carefully cut the tape. Don't cut deep. Open the box and take out the easy stuff. Read the two page instructions. No, really read them. 3. After you take out the easy stuff, cut all 4 corners of the box to lay it flat. This will give you easy access to the rest of the parts. 4. Following the instructions, complete the assembly. Charge the battery 12 hours! If you want to move the assembled scooter look on the right rear fender. Little lever with pictures on the sticker. Move the lever forward and roll the scooter where you want to. Move the lever back to lock. 5. Clean up and dispose of the packing. Sit down with your preferred beverage and read the instruction book like I'm getting ready to.

Tire & tube had to be replaced after just 4 months. This scooter was used on inside hard service only. There is no reason for them to go bad that quick unless they were defective. I called the company that I bought it from and they said that 1 tire and tube was $55.00. I ordered 2 from Amazon for $31.99. Beware of these companies that sell on Amazon.

I love my purple metro mobility scooter. The price was good for it. To use on my cruise, it was perfect for it, it went through my cabin door great. It didn’t fit in some places the shops I wanted to go into. The seat needs to be more softer, it was to hard on my tail bone. Need more room to get my feet on the scooter the humps are to high that over the wheels in front. I had to use my hands to pul my legs up higher to get my feet on. The battery was great didn’t hardly use much life. Had to have my son-in-law to assemble it for me.

Just got it today. It's very easy to put together. But, It's definitely too heavy for a elderly or handicap person to put in and out of car by themselves. This is not meant for carpet, but rides ok on hard wood floors. Took it outside and it does well on side walks, street, and short grass. I'm 5'2 and it's just barely big enough for my short legs. Anyone taller than myself would have a problem. I have to put my feet above front wheels, not the place right in front of me. As far as speed, it goes pretty fast.

This is an addendum to my original rating. We finally were able to make contact with the manufacturer and they were very willing to work with us. We have decided to keep the scooter. It’s very portable and powerful and is relatively easy to transport. Original post: After two weeks, we experienced clacking when the scooter was put in gear, causing us to worry about the transmission or gears. It also grates and grinds when turning right or left. Efforts to contact the company were not successful, and Amazon defers to the seller, so no help there. The company finally authorized a return, but charges a 20% fee for doing so, and you have to pay return shipping. We are sorry we purchased this unit. I encourage you to keep looking, or you better hope you never have an issue with it.
