    • Perfect and simple therm
We recently encountered a heavy wind storm in the northeast that caused a power outage for most of our state. We were fortunate that we only lost power for a little over a day. During the power outage, I was wondering about the impact on food that was in our refrigerator and freezer without any power to maintain a safe temperature. I was able to research the ramifications and was surprised to learn that any perishable foods that were without power for more than 4 hours and didn’t maintain a temperature of at least 40 degrees would not be safe to eat and should be discarded. Our refrigerator had no built in temperature gauges so I had no idea what the food temperature was. I wound up throwing out our perishable foods and then went online to Amazon to order these thermometers. While we haven’t had any more severe storms, I now know what the temperature is for both our refrigerators and our freezer. ... show more

All of the thermostats were checked and read the same. After confirming this, one went to the refrigerator and its freezer. The third one went into the chest freezer and one left to spare. For the cost it's good insurance for when the inevitable happens as old fridges or freezers seem to be better than the high failure rate of today's appliances. ... show more

    • These helped regulate my fridge to proper temp.
I used 3 in different spots in my fridge (top shelf, bottom shelf and door) and one in freezer drawer to get the proper temp. The range is very small to keep food fresh and unspoiled. They are sturdy and easy to read with markings for danger zones.

I have 3 wine coolers so temperature control is crucial. I brought these hoping they would provide a quick & accurate confirmation of the temperature in the coolers. So far they have been excellent & accurate. They fit easily on the wine racks so i can read them through the cooler doors.

    • Great Refrigerator temperature guage
I use all 4. 2 in Fridge and 2 in freezer and they match for the Fridge 2 and freezer 2 on the readings. Our heating element is not working for defrost so this helps to monitor til we get the new replacement part and will continue to use. Luckily we can defrost manually til again the part comes in when we see the temp went down.. works better than waiting til your ice cream melts for sure.. ... show more
